Turn 1 IG won initiative. IG - basilisks sustain fire on speeders destroying one SM - Assault marines take this as a sign of things to come and move in behind the hill close to the enemies deployment zone IG - Advance the Mech infantry to cover an objective and use the factory complex as cover. They open fire on the assault marines but fail to do any damage SM - Land Speeders consolidate, move up behind the other hill close to the Mech infantry and prepare to spring the trap in turn 2 while removing blast markers IG - Put the baneblades on Overwatch SM - March the devs and prepare to destroy the Mech Infantry in the factory complex Turn 2 - AKA the beginning of the end Termies Teleport in next to the basilisks SM win initiative SM - Termies open fire on the basilisks, destroying two and causing them to flee in terror behind the bane blades IG - Baneblades return the favour and open fire on the termies. I fully expected the termies to weather the storm. however they proceeded to fail the emperor and are wiped of the face of the planet. This was the beginning of the end for the SM...... SM - Devs advance and shoot at the IG in the factory and also fail the emperor and end up only killing one SM - Speeders retain initiative, move to continue the assault on the IG mech infantry and also only kill one unit IG - Mech infantry return fire and kill on land speeder, and marshal to remove BM's. SM - Assault move up to the retreating basilisks to destroy them next turn All BM removed in end phase Turn 3 Marines win the initiative. SM - Move the Speeders in an attempt to destroy the Baneblades, but fall a few CM short and end up doing nothing other than get caught between the Baneblades and Mech infantry. SM - Try and retain initiative with the Devs, and fail miserably. IG - Baneblades open fire on the assault marines destroying two (yup, my roles were so bad that the assault marines survived better than the Termies did) IG - Retain the initiative and using the support of the Baneblades, completely destroy the speeders SM - Attempt to assault with Assault marines on the broken basilisk but fail (SM role a 2, IG a 6) and flee End of turn 3 victory points IG have BTS, SM have they shall not pass (out of luck rather than design) based on the appalling dice roles to date, and the fact I had no forces left I admit defeat and hand the win to the IG who played brilliantly. I was out played, out gunned, and abandoned by the dice gods.

Main failings on my part 1) forgot to specify the type of speeder and razorback 2) completely forgot the crossfire rule 3) Land speeders failing to get into range 4) over confidence in the termies. They have always been faithful in previous games however part of the issue was... 5) really horrendous dice roles by myself and some cracking ones by my opponent. The dice gods had abandoned the dark angels that day. |

Great report. Minigeddon can be a bit that way, a few dice here and there can swing it and with so little on the table you really have to dig deep to get back in it. But then, it's so quick you can rack em up and have an other game (or two.) |

Thanks for the report! But why use the outdated and slightly unbalanced GW lists when there are better and more used alternatives available from both EpicUK and NetEA? |

Great stuff! I read the other take on this game by your opponent on fb! Great to hear both sides and I look forward to reading future reports! Oh, and pleased to have had a small role in making this happen! Long live Epic! |

I have every confidence that you and your dice will not fail the Emperor a second time! ![]() One day we should do a Scottish tournament. Common Ground Games in Stirling would be a good venue. The main problem would be which ruleset to use. Are you both sticking with EA (I know Richard enjoyed it) or are there still plans to try Net Epic? |

The Dark Angels will not fail the Emperor again, or I will tell everyone their secret.... Yeah a game or two somewhere mid way would be great. We are sticking with E:A for now but we have discussed also trying other games, so we will see..... Scottish tournament would great though! |

Haha we are a long way away from that yet. Plus I don't know if I would have time to paint a full 3k by then! |
