The lack of AA definitely hurt the Fists. Their BTS was also out of position for most of the game thanks to a lucky TBolt taking out a Crusader before they could activate turn 2. With the line being as long as it was I concentrated on one flank in an effort to turn it. It worked, but it took a lot of support.

Matt also played a game another game against uberChris' Feral Orks. That one was called due to time though.

8 games in with the list, 3-4-1. Only the Eldar had me completely combat ineffective. Floppy smoked me!

I play, the list because I have yellow Marines. It is a fun list, its a good time. Whatever is limited or removed from the codex list has no effect on me personally. I get the best results from a list with 2 fell blades and double predators detachment.

Dave out generaled the shit out of me. I was scraping for every inch. Total loss. The Centurions never really got into it, with any thing. The gav guns are about useless on the dev version.

The bunkers are not to my play style. I do not like the static defensive points. I need to sit down and think about how to properly use them as an anchor or how to create a vacuum with them. Using bunker combos for or in a tourney setting will take a lot of practice.

So having had a detailed readthrough, any more comments? Does anything feel weak or strong about the list? You mentioned using twin fellblades, do they feel overpriced when taken alone? Do they work better in pairs? Do you think they are too cheap or expensive?

The static play element is a tricky one, if it doesn't suit you it doesn't suit you! I would hope the list still works effectively if you decide to play more mobile style

Have you considered using vindicators? I'd really like to see some more testing with six-strong formations as we can also feed that back into the codex marines discussion

My PoV is still what it was last time.

Matt likes the Fellblades, I'm still not sold on them as I'd rather have the activations. If Warhounds were in the list I'd take them over Fellblades. So I guess that means I think they're too expensive, but obviously there's nothing but opinions to back that up.

I definitely like the static option, getting the most out of it depends a lot on objective placement and terrain though.

CaptPiett and I might get a game in next week. If it's a IF game I'll mention the Vindies.

Hey Kyuss,
I used a 6-strong vindicator FM in my last IF game (quite a ways back), and I like the idea of them. It's a cheaper FM that helps list-building. If Dave's saves weren't his typical annoyingly-supernatural good, they would've put some serious hurt on a warhound. However, given the short range of the demolisher, once it is in range of its target(s) the FM is quite vulnerable. One has to be overly careful that it does not become a one-use weapon.

I don't remember that game, are you thinking of an Iron Warriors playtest? I remember a formation of Vindicator formations in one of those (the one where that stupid swamp killed half my army).

uhhh, yeah. sorry, my mind remembered yellow (lamenters) vindicators in my Emperor's Children-colored Iron Warriors army and I thought that was an Imperial Fist test. oops.

I can't imagine how I got confused with that one - maybe a desire to write a "I helped!" post got the better of me :P

The point might still stand however. I rolled the vindicators up and they shot, then promptly lost a bunch of units to counter fire. Of course, they wouldn't have broken so easily with the ATSKNF of the IF.
