Further test for the BT. I wanted to see how PFE100’s test list

WRAITHGATE [50]
GUARDIAN WARHOST (MOUNTED) [350]
Farseer, 4 Wave Serpents, 7 Guardians
SWORDS OF VAUL TROUPE [250]
Fire Storm, 4 Fire Prisms
SWORDS OF VAUL TROUPE [250]
4 Fire Prisms, Fire Storm
WARLOCK TITAN [850]
ASPECT WARRIOR WARHOST [350]
4 Howling Banshee, 4 Warp Spider, 2 Exarch
ENGINE OF VAUL TROUPE [450]
Scorpion x 2
AVATAR [0]
ENGINE OF VAUL TROUPE [450]
Scorpion x 2

would work in my hands.

Game was against EUK Death Guard.

Main points, a retinue got caught by the Aspects and mangled. Terminators got engaged by Prisms with Avatar & Warlock support and were wiped out. Warlock was attacked by retinue with retinue supporting and made 12 straight saves. At end of turn 4 it finally took a wound which went critical. Scorpions were able to fail activations and still get some shots in.
Warlock summoned the Avatar.
I was lucky to face two Plague Reapers & two Defiler formations which maximised my AT shooting from the Fire Prisms. The extra range was useful but I would have preferred the additional shots from Falcons though.
Warlock was a monster, saving and contributing to engagements.
Death Guard had a nightmare when it came to saves and is not something that you would normally expect to see.
3-0 (Blitz, TSNP & DtF) turn 4 to BT

I've never had a problem with the Warlock summoning the Avatar and it felt right that a WE with farseers in it could summon the Avatar. They do make a potent combination though.

Rematch will have to wait for a bit. I wanted to try the list out as I have seen you play it a few times and just couldn't get my head fully around the list. I'll be honest and say that I was still confused at the end of the game.

CAA made the mistake of moving a formation within engage range of the Wraithgate in the first turn before I had activated the aspects. He forgot that they were waiting. So I can't complain when I see it happen in other games.

Eldar won the first three SR roll-offs. Definitely helped as I was able to carry out a triple activation in both turns two and three which easily swung the game to the B-T.

I had expected to face Space Marines which would have given the list a sterner test as the EUK Death Guard are not allowed to march, have generally shorter range and only had a few aircraft.

File comment: DG centre. We effectively both played a refused flank and the game was quite compact. (Only three Defilers as ruins claimed another failed difficult terrain test, double 1)

File comment: Chaos Terminators arrive with a BM and the Avatar appears. Fire Prisms Engaged the Terminators in BtB to lock them in range of the Warlock and then floated up for FF attacks. Supporting fire wiped the terminators out. Avatar and remaining FP engaged the Defilers breaking them and the Warlock failed to retain and shot the Retinue.

For what it's worth, I really struggle to use DG Terminators in the EpicUK list. Fearless is great on bigger formations but with four stands they always seem to die faster/do lees than the 125pt surcharge would suggest. :(

Losing the roll-off was the key in this case. They were going to raise daemons and engage the Warlock if they had the chance and sacrifice themselves in a chance of taking BTS.

It is the same thing that I have when I look at the list. It doesn't feel right to me.

I suspect that it is the lack of aircraft and artillery coupled with the Aspects wanting to engage out of the gate in the first turn, but I have no Storm Serpent to modify where they are going to go. However in this case it worked and worked very well.
