A friend borrowed my guards and I wanted to try some of the changes to the Biel Tan list. So here we go... Biel Tan Phantom Titan 700p Vampire 200p Aspect Warriors (2xExarch, 1xAutarch: 4 Fire warriors, 2 Howling banshees, 2 Striking scorpions) 400p Aspect Warriors (2xExarch: 8 Swooping hawks) 350p Void Spinner 275p Void Spinner 275p Guardians (1 Heavy weapon plattform) 150p Swords of Vaul: 6xFireprism 300p Swords of Vaul: 3xFalcons, 2xFirestorm 250p Rangers 100p Steel Legion Regimental HQ 500p Tank Company 650p Super Heavy Tank Company 500p Thunderbolt 150p Thunderbolt 150p Infantry Company 250p Flak Battery 150p Sentinel 100p Warhound 275p Warhound 275p SETUP Rangers and Sentinels Garrison and is placed on OW. Attachment: Swooping hawks teleport (1BM) TURN 1 Eldar wins initiative. 1. Vampire Raider with Aspect Warriors assault the Regimental HQ with support from Swooping Hawks. The Vampire lands just outside of Flak AA umbrella. Wins the battle with 12 kills against 2 so the HQ is hacked down. The surviving Aspects move into supporting range for the next move. Attachment: 2. Retain: Void Spinner 2 sustains on the Tank Company. 2 hits but no damage. 3BM 3. Retain (SC): Swooping Hawks engage the Tank Company with a little help from their friends. Warhound 1 and Aspect Warriors Support. 4 kills on both sides but the Eldar has the upper hand (+2 inspiringx2, +1 less BM, -1 less units) and Wins the roll-off with 3. Breaking the Tank Company 4. Flak battery moves up to the Aspect Warriors and kills 3, breaking the formation. 5. Void Spinner 1 sustains on the Warhound 1. Scoring 1 hit and breaking the Titan. 6. Thunderbolts attack the Fireprisms that is positioned way out of AA coverage killing 1. 7. Rangers double and puts down a broken Leman Russ 8. Warhound 2 double and shoots at the broken Aspect warriors killing them all. 9. Phantom doubles and shoots the Warhound 2. Taking down a shield with the missiles and scoring 4 hits with the pulsars. Killing the Warhound! 10. Sentinels double and shoots the Rangers. 1 hit and 1 save. 11. Falcons Hold and moves forward 12. Infantry Co. double and shoots the Rangers killing 2, breaking them. 13. Fireprism double and shoots the Shadowswords. 3 hits, 3 saves 14. Shadowswords move and fire at the concealed Phantom Titan. 1 hit, 1 save… 15. Guardians Hold and regroup 16. Thunderbolts attack the Fireprisms. 1BM End. Flak shoots at the Vampire but it saves both hits before exiting on the opponent’s side. Tank Co and Swooping Hawks fail to rally. Attachment: TURN 2 1. Shadowswords sustain on the Phantom, 2 hits and 2 saves… 2. Retain: Tunderbolts Holds. 3. Void Spinner 1 shoots the Hydras. 1BM 4. Sentinels move and shoots the fireprisms. 1BM 5. Fireprism Marshal and moves into cover. 6. Thunderbolts Holds again 7. Void Spinner 2 also attack the Hydras breaking the formation. 2BM 8. Infantry Co moves and shoots the Rangers, breaking them 9. Phantom moves and shoots at the Shadowswords. 4 hits = 1 wound and 1 kill. 10. Warhound moves and shoots at the Phantom. 1 wound 11. Vampire Holds 12. Guardians hold and regroup 13. Falcons moves shoots the Warhound dropping its shields and moves back into cover. End. Rangers fail to rally. Attachment: TURN 3 1. Shadowswords Marshall and shoot the Phantom but once again the holofield tricks them. 2. Retain: Warhound hold and moves into cover 3. Phantom moves and shoots the Shadowswords scoring 3 hit, killing 1 and breaking the formation 4. Retain: Void spinner attack the Hydras killing 1 and breaking them 5. Retain: Fireprism attack the 2 last Leman Russ killing 1 and breaking them. 6. Sentinels move toward an objective and places a BM on the Phantom 7. Falcons assault the Infantry co with Support from the Phantom. Killing 8 and hacking down the rest. (loosing 2 Falcons in the process) 8. Thunderbolts attack a Void spinner. 1BM 9. Void spinner shoots the last broken Leman Russ, killing it and securing the BTS victory point. 10. Thunderbolts attack the Swooping hawks and kills 1 breaking them (denying them from taking the Blitz…) 11. Guardians march to take objectives 12. Vampire kills a sentinel End Attachment: Eldar wins 2 – 0. Take and Hold + BTS. Conclusion. Perhaps it was a mistake to do the big assault in the beginning but it was kind of a success to me I think... I basically lost both my Aspect formations and traded them for the Infantry HQ and Tank Company, that’s a good trade, right? After that the Guards never really got “back” into the game. It really sucks to lose 2 big units before you got to activate them, and when my Phantom killed the Warhound in one go they kind of lost all hope. Anyway, the Phantom Titan Pulsar was good I guess. Never took a shot at 75 cm but the 2+ to hit really encourage the Titan to move. Seems fine to me, but I always struggle to make good use of a 700p Titan in a 3000p battle. The Howling Banshees is also probably fine, their 5+ save is their weakness compared to the Scorpions. (I usually take 2-4 close combat specialists in an Aspect, 4 Fire dragons and 0-2 other stuff) Didn’t use infiltrate this time but it feels like a fun flavor. Fire prisms lowered cost is also fine by me. They have a different use than the Falcons so they are a little hard to compare to each other but this way it is simpler to build an army (without 15p gaps) and I tend to regard the Falcon as superior to the Fireprism anyhow… |

PFE100 wrote: So the new points on the void spinner feel right? To be able to put blast markers on almost any unit on the field is a powerful tool for the Eldar so they might be worth the extra 25 points. But this is the first time I have used them so I really have no idea other then in theory ![]() In short: It feels right! PFE100 wrote: So would you use the Phantom Titan on a regular bases? No, I would use the Revenants as I always have ![]() I do like the change to the Phantom, now I might try him/her from time to time when I'm bored with 8x 3+ MW attacks ![]() That said I play 3000p battles so no one user the big titans on a regular basis and I do not think that they should...
