You sir are a great asset to this forum! If 3 more people did 25% of your reporting rate we would be approving alot more lists!!

Agreed. It takes him a great deal of time and effort to do each AAR. What is more, these photos don't slow up gameplay hardly any and he makes up the written report from memory. Wish my memory was half as good.
Now, if only he could improve his dice rolls. :- )

I can only say I will I had a fraction of the time to have as much fun as your having running all these games. :)

For those of us starved for some games the reports are great to go through.

Thanks a lot for the report! Great to read over and get the feedback :) Loads of aircraft!

That Sword Brethren formation is interesting and not something I would have thought of taking. Personally I tend to focus formations on either assault or shooting and would probably have gone for 2 Land Raider Crusaders with them instead, but it seems to work ok for you, only getting taken out right at the end after loads of fire pouring into it.

Did you find the Stormtalon's 15cm range attacks much of a disadvantage against the orks? The Fighta Bommers and Landa both have all round 15cm AA fire, so when attacking them you would have to come under fire from their defensive AA before being able to, potentially getting shot down before you attacked.

As you realised afterwards it's not possible to put Thunderhawk Transporters onto CAP as they're bombers. They can however come down and land on the ground to give all round 2 x 15cm AA5+ protection each to a particular area. The FW THT models are large models (measuring 9.5cm wide by 9.5cm long) and at being a WE formation they only need to be within 10cm of each other (coherency of 5cm x their DC), so 3 of them can give AA coverage to a fair size area.

I've used this tactic a fair bit myself, just bear in mind they will only fire in the disengagement phase at the end of the turn so must remain landed, you can't 'incidentally' intercept targets by landing within range of your AA shots :)

It may just be me, but the link at the top now seems to refer to the Templars Vs Scions battle just posted, and the older posts link only has the Templar vs Necrons battle. Has the Templars vs Orks game been deleted or moved elsewhere?
