Will have another battle today after a months hiatus. This time I'm gonna test the new Nurgle CSM list that i find very interesting. It will be tested against lots of tanks in the Minervan list. My list is not very "chaotic". I wanna test the durability of lots of fearless formations and a AV/WE heavy list. Here it is: Plague Marines+Lord of Pestilence+2 Land raiders+2 Rhinos 545 (BTS) Plague Marines+2 Land Raiders+2 Rhinos 495 Plague Tower 300 Plague Tower 300 Armoured company: 4 predators and 2 Land Raiders 350 Hellblades 200 Hellblades 200 Plague reaper 200 Plague reaper 200 Plague reaper 200 10 activations, 2990p My opponent has: Incompertus, 2995 POINTS Minervan Tank Legion (NetEA Tournament Pack 2013) ================================================== SUPER-HEAVY TANK COMPANY [600] Supreme Commander, 3 Shadowsword TANK COMPANY [655] Thunderer, Flak Support (Hydra), 9 Leman Russ THUNDERBOLT FIGHTERS [150] 2 Thunderbolts WARHOUND [275] 1 Warhound Class Titan WARHOUND [275] 1 Warhound Class Titan MECHANIZED PLATOON [300] 10 Infantry, 5 Chimera TANK PLATOON [340] 6 Conqueror SUPER-HEAVY TANK PLATOON [200] Stormsword SUPER-HEAVY TANK PLATOON [200] Stormhammer 2995p, 9 activations I will probably play pretty defensivly and ty ro win with DtF and BTS and/or TSNP. |

Setup: No garrisons. I set my 2 plague towers watching over my blitz and the left flank. The rest of the forces where pretty evenly spread out. My opponent deployed all along his table edge.

TURN 1: Nurgle wins Initiative. Nurgle: Plague tower on left flank holds and advances forward (great start!) Minervans: Thunderbolts go on CAP: Nurgle: Plague Tower doubles behind mountain on the left flank. Minervans: Tank Platoon on left flank doubles and fires on plague tower, 1 DC. Nurgle: Hell Blades stand down. Minervans: Mech Co marches forward on the left flank towards the Nurgle Blitz. Nurgle: Armoured Co doubles towards the left and fires on Mech Co, killing 1 chimera and 1 guard stand. Minervans: SHT Co (BTS) doubles forward and fires on armoured Co. 2 land raiders and 1 predator is killed and the formation breaks. Nurgle: Plague Reaper on right flank advances forward behind building. Minervans: Stormsword on right flank holds and advances forward. Nurgle: Plague Reaper on right flank doubles forward behind building. Minervans: Warhound on left flank doubles towards the middle and fires on Plague reaper, 1 BM. Nurgle: Plague Marines in center doubles towards the left flank and fires on Mech Co, killing 1 stand. Minervans: Warhound on right flank doubles forward and fires on a plague reaper, 1DC. Nurgle: Plague Reaper advances forward and fires on Warhound, stripping both shuelds and doinf 1 DC. Minervans: Stormblade on right flank doubles forward and fires on damaged plague reaper, destroying it. Nurgle: Plague Marines (BTS) doubles on right flank into a building. Fires on damaged Warhound and destroys it (tit for tat Maddafakka!!) Minervans: Tank Co (BTS) advances forward on right flank. Fires on Plague Marines i building and kills 3 stands. Nurgle: Hell Blades ground attack SHT Co. 1 Hellblades dies from intercepting Thunderbolts. 1BM. END PHASE: Armoured Co rallies.

TURN 2: Nurgle wins Initiative. Nurgle: Plague Tower on left flank sustains on tank platoon, 2BM. Nurgle: Plague Marines retain and engages Mech Co. Killing all but 1 stand and gives SHT Co 1BM. Minervans: SHT Co suatains on Plague Marines in front of them, killing 2 land raiders and 2 stands. Minervans: Stormblade on right flank sustains on Plague Marines (BTS) in building, 1 land raider is destroyed. Nurgle: Plague Marines (BTS) Matshalls and clears 4 BM:s. Minervans: Warhound in middle of the board sustains on Plague reaper. 2DC is made and the formation breaks. Nurgle; Armoured Co near blitz advances to left flank and fires on Tank platoonm killing 1 tank. Minervans: Thunderbolts go on CAP with the help of the SC. Nurgle: Plague Tower in middle sustains on SHT Co, 1DC. Minervans: Sormblade on right flank advances forward and fires on Plage Marines (BTS), 1 BM. Nurgle: Hell Blades stand down. Minervans: Tank Platoon holds and breaks. NUrgle: Hell Blades ground attack broken tankm platoon, kills 1 tank. Minervans: Tank Co holds and fires on Plague Marines (BTS) in building in front of them, killing 1 stand. Nurgle: Plague reaper on right flank doubles and fires on stormblade, 1BM. TURN 3: Minervans win initiative. Minervans: Sht Co advance swith the help of the SC. Fires on Plague marines in front of them, kills 2 and breaks the formation. Minervans: Stormsword on right flank suatains on plague marines (BTS), kills 2 and breaks the formation. Nurgle: Hell Blades Ground attacks tank platoon, killing 1 tank. Minervans: Thunderbolts ground attack armoured Co, kills 1 pred and breaks the formation. Minervans: Stormblade fires on Plague reaper, does 2DC and breaks it. Nurgle: Plague Tower doubles and fires on SHT Co, catching the lone stand from the Mech Co in the barrage blast (killing it), 2BM:s. Minervans: Tank Co holds and spreads out to cover all 3 DtF objectives. Nurgle: Plague Tower on left flank advances and fires on SHT Co, 2BM:s. My thoughts: It was a bad match up of armies. I really would have needed teleporting terminators supported by daemons to deal with the SHT Co and the Tank Co. I also could have used a fats unit like blight drones to make sure that i would have prevented TSNP. This became a slow shooting match where i was outgunned I'm afraid. Kinda funny to loose on the 2 onjectives i thought i would win the game on.... Any thoughts or ideas from you guys on what could have been better army selection and/or tactics? |
