Very nice AAR & photos as usual Greg. That was an "Epic" fight in more ways than one. I see you decided to not give the SMs credit for "Defend the Flag". I wondered about that at the time as there was a bug wiggling in the swamp that was very close to our half the table. Still, to win by 1 point from the shot of a lone Razorback at the last round of the last turn makes this intense battle a 'near run thing' in the extreme. The Sgt. commanding that Razorback will definitely get a VC. (or Silver Star or MCG) ;D
Further clarification on terrain. The creek was very shallow and gravel bottomed, so gave no penalties or benefits. The swamp was dangerous terrain that did not block LOS.
May the Dice Gods smile upon you.

EST News: Tactical Sgt. Juanita O’Brian, 301st Bn, Ironclaw Space Marines has been awarded the ‘Medal of Conspicuous Gallantry’ for her actions at Rynn’s World. Her citation reads in part “The sole surviving NCO after the destruction of her company by Tyranid Hordes, Sgt. O’Brian saw her duty and did it. While trapped behind enemy lines, and at great personal risk, she ordered her Razorback APC to fire on a horde of Tyranids in the valley below, destroying the last of the Dominatrix swarm.” The result helped cement a victory for the Ironclaws as they continued their push up the Desolation Valley.

No need Jimmy. If you follow PFE100's previous and future AARs here at TacCom you'll have all the scenarios that were in the E40K Battles Book, updated to Epic Armageddon, plus pictorial maps and at least one detailed photographic example of the battle.
Again, if you or anyone else replays this scenario I'd appreciate you letting me know how it went, or even better, a AAR of the fight.

You're a very prolific Battle reporter, thanks! :)

This project of using epic 40k scenarios is great. I too want to get ahold of the book after seeing your reports.

It would be easier to follow your reports if the photos were put into the text of each turn after the relevant activations, rather than all bunched up at the end of the turn.

cheers!

While what you say is true, I don't think you fully appreciate the time and effort it takes Greg to give you what you've got. ;) By now adding the situation and being more exact about set up, I hope you can reconstruct both what happened in our games and recreate the scenario to play for your own enjoyment.

I do know the kind of time you have to put into it, I do battlereports here every now and then. Just wanted to let Greg know of ways to improve his reports, but don't do it if it means you'll do less reports Greg!

cheers

Thanks for the input Borka.

If that happens, can I have your Epic Armies Greg? ;D
Come to think of it though, if you left for Fiji, who would I get to lbeat me at Epic Armageddon games twice a week? :'( You're the only guy I know whose dice luck is as bad as mine. ::)
