Thanks for the report guys. Glad the IH are now looking more capable. Out of interest, what size is you game board? It looks wider than a typical 4'x6' one. If this is the case, do you find the dismounted infantry suffer? Any chance of some army close ups? Cheers |

Thanks for posting the report and lists. A few strategic questions and then a not about facing Orks: -I found the engagement in T1 of the Scouts to be very very odd. I think I'd of engaged with the Phalanx in a position to providing supporting fire. Prep with the formation, retain and then engage with the scouts. Why so? -The use of the heavy infantry seemed interesting. I'd of expected them to work in tandem with Phalanx 2. 4 devs put out a bunch a good FF 3+ and have some ablative units (the 2 tacts and rhinos). Instead you went INF hunting with them it seems. -It's been my opinion that escalating the air war with Orks tends to be a loosing game for Imperials. Instead putting the liberal application of hunters in many of those formations tends to work out better for the points in my experience. Expect that in T1 you're simply going to have to weather the fire but by laying BMs with their lower init you often neutralize them. I'd love to see a rematch as my ability to test against experienced ork players is now kaput. -Which version of the list did you use for the IH? The current or proposed? |

Prep with the formation, retain and then engage with the scouts. Why so? Well, how do I explain this...First off the last couple of games I have rolled a lot of ones when rolling initiatives so I was a little afraid of loosing my supreme commander in Phalanx 1. Secondly, when I have faced Mordotens Orks before his Gunzmob have crippled most of my army with all their shots and MW weapons. So my plan was to sacrifice the scouts so the Big Gunz would loose their Overwatch. It kind of worked but I think I could have neutralized them in some better way. jimmyzimms wrote: -The use of the heavy infantry seemed interesting. I needed to force him to move some gunwagonz before the hawks came down and there was nothing else in line of fire... And, well it doesn't really show in the pictures but, the whole Blitz brigade ended their move just in front of Phalanx 2. So if their master would have been a little better at rolling saves they would have been in perfect position for turn 2 tankhunting. As it played out their only target with armour was the Gargant and I didn't want to shoot at him so I just moved them around and secured objectives instead...? jimmyzimms wrote: -It's been my opinion that escalating the air war with Orks tends to be a loosing game for Imperials. I bought two hunters and they did their job, placing blastmarkers on every raid, but they always saved the hits and they always made their activations... The reason for not bringing the Talons this time was that almost no one except me uses the "air assault playstyle" so if my opponents goes on CAP and I do the same nothing happens and I have just used 200p on nothing(not entirely true but...) jimmyzimms wrote: -Which version of the list did you use for the IH? The current or proposed? I used the "0.5 proposed"Next time I will try and squeeze in some Veterans, this time I only wanted to test a Dreadnought heavy list. /Uven |

Ahhh all those totally make sense now. Hard to make out in some of the pictures / text so I was going "hrrrmmmm what's he doing with this?". ![]() Glad to hear this was on the proposed list. It's small tweaks make it a far better proposition. There's the remaining typo about the Clan base cost being 25 too much so you've got a few points to play with in the above list. I'd probably try for a least one if not two more hunters in the above match up if you try it again. Typically you'll find those aircraft not coming back again, saves or no saves ![]() uvenlord wrote: Next time I will try and squeeze in some Veterans, this time I only wanted to test a Dreadnought heavy list. Some times one of us don't bring aircraft at all and then its (almost) 150 points down the drain... uvenlord wrote: Next time I will try and squeeze in some Veterans, this time I only wanted to test a Dreadnought heavy list.
