Here's my thread following the development of my LatD army list: http://taccmd.tacticalwargames.net/view ... 73#p473473 Still need to post up pics of all the painting I have been doing. First battle report...though I won't be going into much detail. Here's my 3000 point list: STIGMATUS COVEN [390] (Chaos Undivided) Daemon Prince (Arch Heretic), 5 Mutants, 5 Cultists, Big Mutants, 7 Land Transporter, Traitor Hydra STIGMATUS COVEN [310] (Slaanesh) Chaos Marine Aspiring Champion, 8 Mutants, 3 Cultists, 6 Land Transporter, Traitor Hydra STIGMATUS COVEN [310] (Slaanesh) Chaos Marine Aspiring Champion, 8 Mutants, 3 Cultists, 6 Land Transporter, Traitor Hydra STIGMATUS COVEN [200] (Tzeentch) Chaos Marine Aspiring Champion, 4 Mutants, 7 Cultists STIGMATUS COVEN [200] (Tzeentch) Chaos Marine Aspiring Champion, 4 Mutants, 7 Cultists STIGMATUS COVEN [265] (Chaos Undivided) Chaos Marine Aspiring Champion, 8 Mutants, 4 Cultists, Traitor Hydra SLAANESH SCOUT TITANS [225] Subjugator SLAANESH DAEMON KNIGHTS [275] 4 Daemon Knights TZEENTCH FIRELORD [150] Firelord TZEENTCH DOOMWINGS [150] 3 Doomwings HELLFIRE CANNONS [200] 4 Hellfire Cannons ARTILLERY BATTERY [325] 4 Basilisks (12 activations) Here's the initial deployment. I have Lost and the Damned on the bottom and Mick Fair has Space Marines cheese on the top. I kept all the objectives together because I thought the space marines would suffer from it but I didn't reckon on the huge supporting fire of the Reaver titan. I really had nothing in my list which was going to deter this walking behemoth. ![]() Fairy set his scout detachment across the front and so I set my Slaanesh knights in a similar position. My second mistake....the Reaver tore them a new hole in the first move of the game. I pushed forward with my troops but it was all to no avail...his guns had state of the art cooling systems and I was unable to cause them to overheat! Note the Reaver titan has taken up a position right in the centre of the board with easy access of multiple objectives....lesson learnt. ![]() A comparison of the casualties taken mid way through turn 2 slightly not in my favour!!! ![]() ![]() A rare sight of an undamaged coven in cover being useful. Well as useful as any of my units were. ![]() End of turn 2 and things are starting to look really bad. Please Fairy! Put me out of my misery!!! ![]() End of turn 3, end of the game. Highlights include my 5 broken units shown by large green dice, only 1 unbroken unit reduced to 6 infantry stands and the hero of the game a Coopers Pale Ale! A 4-0 win to Fairy and another learning loss to me. ![]() So...what went wrong? Well I set up poorly and didn't have anything to deal with a large titan. Also I rolled really poorly (not that it was really going to matter!) and some of the LatD units seem VERY ordinary. The Firelord was abysmal and the Doomwings were only slightly better. I need to rethink this list to hold its flavour and increase its effectiveness. |

LatD can be a shock when first played with. I'd also say that you would benefit from more larger pieces of terraine. |

Yeah good points Tiny-Tim. Any hints on how to use the Firelord? It seems to be very brittle against decent AA. Would it be worth taking more (2 or 3) in one formation? |

I've used them in pairs and also individually trying to swamp my opponents. In both cases the main thing that I found was to just target units with the least AA cover as I seem to fail the armour save more regularly than pass. |

Lost and the Damned really struggle against big WE too - I have had multiple nightmare games trying to take on the various eldar titans. Yor best chance is with a daemon-ed up big retinue, but they are too slow to catch titans |

Tactic against Eldar WE is volume of fire, they are bound to fail a save or five. |
