This game was a bit of a slaughter at the end of the game there was not much left of the Legion of the Dammed (mainly due to some bad luck on initiative rolls), when discussing and comparing the points value of the units, it seems that formations are a bit cheap (Warrior Company and Havoc Company) and choosing upgrades can be arranged in a way to create super units (Armoured Company 4 Predators and 3 Basilisks for 350), but apart from that the list has a good flavour and style.

The LatD came back to earth with a bump after the triumph of Manchester Mangle. I swopped out the Hydras and went back to trying to get the Altar to work for me. This went wrong from the first instance as a set of Defilers tempted a Coven and Altar to engage them. Altar had been set up in cover to give it some protection from the Iron Warriors shooting, but first move failed its difficult terraine test and was subsequently criticalled killing several of the coven with it and eventually losing four of my Daemon reserve.

In my normal style of giving too many targets for my oponent to handle I pushed forward and at the end of the first turn there was a solid centre left flank of Iron Warriors whilst the LatD were attempting to push up and around their right flank. One set of Cannons had gotten a shot off at the Decimators, but they only suffered one wound. Zombies rose and terminators teleported. Zombies were hammered by the Havocs and a Retinue. Terminators were vaporized by a formation of Hellfire Cannons (three failed saves leaving only the Daemon Prince) LatD were stopped in their tracks by the engaging and firing of the Iron Warriors whilst their attempts to break the IW left flank was stopped dead by the Daemonic Assault Engines on that flank falling to Defilers and the Coven set up to engage failing it's activation.

From then on it was a case of holding off the IW, for as smaller a loss as possible. There was a small chance of a LatD win on turn 3 whilst holding their three own objectives and trying to keep their half of the table clear of enemy. This was spotted and a careful move forward stopped this. Clear 2-0 victory in turn 4 to IW and they didn't seem to have broken sweat.

Oh, yes Hellblades showed their worth over Doomwings again.
