jeez, bad luck with those assaults Dave. Nice batrep though.

out of curiosity, why do people take Stormboyz over a small mob+extra boyz in a Landa? Is it because they can be more irritating/ effective after the initial assault? They just seem less effective in the initial assault..

I've never taken them in a Landa, I usually take them on foot as a scout screen. Scouts are always a annoying. >:D

Do people tend to use the Landa via planetfall or ground attack? If the latter, I'd guess it's hard to get many units into CC whilst also being within 5cm of the aircraft?

The Landa is a War Engine so it can land in the middle of an enemy formation and barge units out of the way. It has good CC so it doesn't mind being in base contact.

This makes it much easier to get all the boyz (and more importantly, the Grots to absorb the first few hits) into base contact with the target formation.

Haven't seen to many planetfalling landas, mainly because they'd have to come in turn 3 or later. Troops with Jump Packs can disembark up to 15cm though.

Sorry, missed this post Ares.

Had three games now that have gone to tiebreak (haven't done the math for last nights but I'm pretty sure it was a 'nid loss). Not really seeing the "Termagant Terror" list as overly broken at the moment. I'll give it a few more playtests but after that I'm going to move towards something a little more competitive if my mind.

No problem. I like your reports, they are very clear and easy to follow. It's a nice study in tactics too for those of us who have less experience than you and your gaming mates. I've noticed that you have played with a lot of light infatry swarms, yes. Quite the "horde of theeth and claw" feel indeed. Looking forward to see if other lists produce similar results. Keep up the good work, I'm delighted to see Tyranids moving forwards again!
