Start of Game The Whirlwinds double up and loose a unit to dangerous terrain. A Swarm drops in on the Marines right flank. It engages the Whirlwinds. All but the Hunter goes down, but the bugs roll double ones for resolution and break. A Thawk straffes them and takes out two. The Harridan marches to cover. The Tacticals march. The Dactylis go on overwatch. The Predators double and take out a Harridan DC. The Genestealers advance. The Ravenwing screen the Predators. The SC goes on overwatch. The Trygons surface. |

Turn 2 The Predators sustain on the Harridan and kill it, one Gargoyle gets out alive. The Ravenwing engage the Tyrgons and kill 2. The Dactylis kill two Predators. The Hunter double on the broken Swarm and hacks one down. The Genestealers advance. The Tacticals go on overwatch. The SC remains on Overwatch. The Thunderhawk engages the Genestealers. All but two are hacked down. The Lictors and Terminators teleport in. |

Turn 3 The Terminators engage and wipe out the Dactylis. The Devastators break the Lictors with an advance. A Swarm drops in and engages the SC. A Warrior, a gaunt and a Marine go down. The Trranids pull off a win though. The Assault Marines double and take Blitz. End of Game, after a failed attempt to break the Assault marines. Marines win with BTS, Blitz and T&H. |

My list was: Tactical - Supreme Commander - Razorback - Hunter (BTS) 500 Tactical - Razorback - 325 Devastator - 275 Assault -Chaplain - 225 Deathwing - Chaplain - 400 Ravenwing - 375 Predators (Anihilators) - Hunter - 325 Whirlwind - Hunter - 375 Thunderhawk - 200 On Onachus: I like the "Small, medium, large" swarms better as it is easier than trying to determine the 1/3rd, 1/3rd, 1/3rd rule. I also think that respawning back into the original swarm is better than "spawn anywhere" for the reasons already mentioned in other threads. How would merged swarms be handled with this rule? I'd also be interested to see the "swarm pool" that others have mentioned in play. I recall briefly discussing the change to rally modifiers for Tyranids as well. I think that not suffering the -1 for enemy within 30cm is fine to negate but I would not remove the -2 for being broken. In my mind, Tyranids don't care how close the enemy is but if they have broken it might take a little extra "oomph" from the Hive Mind to turn them around. I guess if you wanted to simplify it, give them a +1 to rally rolls. The list seems solid enough, although (just like any list relying on reserves) bad reserve rolls are going to hurt the game for you. The Dark Angels seems like a balanced list to me, hopefully it get's pushed to "Official" soon. |
