A rather long game that went to point in the fourth turn. I took Matt's IG list he's used in a couple of games, and him my Land Speeder heavy drop list you've seen from the last couple of battle reports. I castled up in the left hand corner of the board in the "onion" formation. Most of the drop came down in the center of the board. It took me three turns to break out of the Land Speeder cordon, and even then I couldn't get two victory conditions. It was 1-0 in the fourth and we went to points. The rest of the drop.  The Tacticals sustain on the Rough Riders, laying a BM.  The Basilisk sustatins and takes out two Land Speeders.  The Manticores attempt to sustain, fail and fire direct ont eh Tacticals, hitting four times and taking out a stand.  The Land Speeders advances and lay a BM on the Rough Riders.

The Thunderbolts straffe the Land Speeders, laying a BM. Leman Russ attempt to retain and sustain, fail, and fire on the Raven Guard Assault, taking out two stands and the Storm Eagles.  The Sentinels advances and destoy the broken Sentinels.  The HQ goes on overwatch.  The on-board Land Speeders double and break the Rough Riders, taking out two. The Raven Guard SC doubles to the left flank.  The Shadowswords advance on the Raven Guard Assault and take out a stand and the Storm Eagles.

The Land Speeders advance and the Storm Troopers use their overwatch, destroying two.  Their return fire destroys the Storm Eagle.  The Raven Guard Assault attempt to marshal, fail and regroup.  The Raven Guard Assault march.  The Hunter manages to take out a Thunderbolt as it disengages.  End of Turn All but Russes and Rough Riders rally. |

Turn 2 Strategy: Raven Guard Turn 2  Turn 2  The Terminators arrive.  The Land Speeders sustain on the Storm Troopers and take out a stand.  The Terminators engage, but suffer overwatch from the HQ, they loose a stand.  |

The Russes manage to wipe two out in the assault, and the last in the resolution. They consolodate.  The Manticores sustain on the Raven Guard Assault, hitting three times.  The Basilisk attempt to retain, fail and fire direct on the Land Speeders, laying a BM.  The Raven Guard Assault engage the Storm Troopers.  The Storm Troopers win but loose a stand, the Raven Guard two.

The Land Speeders double back out of LoS.  The Storm Troopers attempt to double, fail but get it with the reroll. They destoy a Land Speeder.  The Tacticals sustain on the Russes and lay a BM.  The Land Speeders sustain on the Rough Riders, destoying all but the Commissar.  The Shadowswords advance on the Land Speeders, vaporize them (along with their families).

The Thunderbolt makes his activation test and lays a BM.  The SC goes on overwatch.  End of Turn All but Storm Troopers and Land Speeders on IG right flank rally. |

The Russes double on the Land Speeders, destorying three and breaking them.  The Tacticals sustain on the Storm Troopers, breaking them.  The Thunderbolt comes screaming on again! And lays a BM...  The Raven Guard Assault marshall.  The Manticores sustain on the Tacticals, two go down.

The Raven Guard Assault march to the Blitz.  The Shadow Swords advance to contest the Blitz and vaporize the other Raven Guard Assault.  The HQ doubles and fires on the Tacticals, breaking them.  The Basilisks attempt to sustain, fail and fire direct on the Raven Guard Assult, laying a BM.  End of Turn All but Rough Riders, Tacticals and Land Speeders on IG right flank rally. |

Turn 4 Strategy: Raven Guard Turn 4  Turn 4  The Land Speeders advance on the Shadowswords and take a DC off of one of them.  The Basilisks fire on the Land Speeders, laying a BM.  The Raven Guard Assault engage the Shadowswords, no hits are scored.  |

They break and fall back.  The Leman Russ advance on the SC, take overwatch fire and get a BM.  They fire back and destoy two Rhinos and Tactical stand.  The Land Speeders Marshall.  The Shadowswords advance and fry the Tacticals.
