Apologies for the crappy sub of a Pylon however mine is not built yet. But it is a playtest so I am sure you can all get past it. Turn 1 With a use of Teleport, Shoot, Charge and then consolidating back into the unused teleports, the losses to each side looked like this: Necrons Monolith Maniple 2-4 bases of Necrons Marines Bikes Formation Thunderhawk Thunderhawk Assault Marines Devastators - Tactical Marines broken Here are some of the pics: Necrons surround the few marines and force them to run (yes, that was my Pylon for tonight) And from the other side: What was left after 2 Thunderhawk assaults: At the end of turn 1 we called it a game. As we were packing up and me feeling pretty bad, LeanonRuss advised we should keep playing to, as he put it, "highlight how broken the list really is". I have no comment other than to state how, while laughing - because all you could do was laugh, that I felt really bad for Russ having to come up against this force and the tactics I was using. |

The Necron list looks pretty standard, but the Marine list looks poor (no heavy hitters like Terminators or Titans, and zero AA, too many Tactical formations and not enough specialists like Assaults and Devestators). Do you have any specific comment other than "Necrons are broken"? |

Do you have any specific comment other than "Necrons are broken"? One of the key components was Russ never having played Necrons, and only reading a few basic stats, before the game commenced. So his formations were out of position, and his primary targets and strategies weren't necessarily optimal. A 'standard' approach doesn't work against Necrons (or Tyranids). With some experience, the devastation should be minimized. Morgan Vening |

Sounds like a common "first time against necrons" game then! |

Quote: "highlight how broken the list really is" Sorry, but since you didn't qualify this sentence clearly with your own opinion about the balance of the list, the inference you imparted was that you shared this sentiment. |

Can't I have one post today without people barking up my tree? There was no inference. Quote: LeanonRuss ........ as he put it, "highlight how broken the list really is". Quote: I have no comment I think I was quite specific as I specifically did not want to be misquoted. Can we please move on. I so tire of these stupid pissing contests. If people want the last word, go ahead. Otherwise, I placed this up so LeanonRuss could voice his concerns (if any) and allow the community to talk. |

Dude, that text, as you wrote it, is unclear at best as to your own opinion (you give no comment other than to laugh at his "having to come up against this force"... so the only comment you did give was not positive). You've clarified your own opinion now so I can now understand, so there's no need to get het up about it. |

I just feel like I have been belted for two days straight by people over a game I have come to love very much - that's all. Just when I change the topic and move onto other things, it just seems to follow me. I just want to play, develop, paint, and have fun. It is also late, so I am going to bed. Tomorrow is a new day - hopefully. |

and, a deep breath... ![]() as others have said, Necrons can be seriously scary to oppose until you figure out what their weaknesses are (limited or no MW/ TK, generally poor maneuverability once teleported). I'd have loaded up on AT weapons, terminators, bikes (for FF and obj capturing), some devastators and a warhound or 2. I'm sure next time he'll learn how to draw out the Necrons so they're poorly positioned then pick off monoliths until they lose the ability to capture objectives. So fancy playing Necrons against my World Eaters one night/day? |
