Teleports:
- Terminators(2) behind Scouts – 1 BM

Turn 2
Iyanden win Initiative

- Storm Serpent Advances on Terminators(2) for no hits
- Spirit Warhost(1) sustains and Charges Terminators(2) out of Storm Serpent for a FF combat. Combat sees Terminators reduced to one model after losing the combat by 6 and Skull Lord failing his Stubborn save.

Terminators woeful attack dice needing a 3+ to hit (yellow are Macro)

- WoE Bikes(2) March to centre of the table
- Scouts decide to go on Overwatch again (to use an activation)
- Devastation Cruiser activates.
- Barrage has no effect
- Pin Point Attack causes 2 wounds to the Storm Serpent (breaking it)
- Drop pods land in front of Spirit Warhost(1)

- Berserkers(1) charge Spirit Warhost(1). Scouts enact Overwatch for no hits. Berserkers cause 8 HtH hits with Iyanden player making 7 saves and then an extra reinforced for no deaths. 2 die however due to FF. 3 Berserkers are killed in the engagement  with Iyanden player winning the eventual combat by 2. Berserkers make their Stubborn saves and retreat.
- EoV Advance on Berserkers(2) killing 1
- Warp Spiders retain and Charge Berserkers(1) for a clipping FF engagement. 3 Hits see 3 Berserker deaths (this is not the WoE’s day to roll dice). The retaliation sees 1 Warp Spider death. WoE lose combat by 3, and 2 more die due to failing the Stubborn rolls.

- Bikes(1) Advance behind an Ork building
- Vampire Raider come in to land. Hellblades(1) enact CAP. Firestorms AA killing 1 Hellblade on the approach. Hellblades continue CAP causing 2 hits on the Vampire Raider which are both saved.
- Spirit Warhost(2) retain out of Vampire Raider and charge Berserkers(1) for a FF engagement. Berserkers kill 1 warithguard before being totally wiped out.
- Hellblades(2) GA Spirit Warhost(1). Firestorn fires AA for no hits. Nightwings(2) enact CAP killing 1 Hellblade. Surviving Hellblades continue with GA for no hits yet their fire was enough to break Spirit Warhost(1).
- Nightwings(1) fail to activate and Stand Down

Rally Phase
- All units rally other than Warp Spiders who fail to remove BM

Teleports
- Avatar appears in front of Spirit Warhost(2)
- Terminators(1) appear in front of Spirit Warhost(1)

Turn 3
WoE win the Initiative

- Terminators(1) Charge Spirit Warhost(1). A most disappointing roll of the dice produce only 2 MW hits from a total of 7 MW attacks. To add insult to injury, both the MW save. Normal hits however see 3 dead Wraithguard. Terminators lose the combat however (at this point I – as the WoE player – was getting tired of all these woeful dice rolls)

- WoE Bikes(1) retain and fail, therby gaining a BM. Using the Blood Rage rule, they charge the Avatar throwing caution to the wind. They cause 6 hits for 2 wounds and no critical. Avatar responds with 3 hits + 1 MW. Skull Lord takes the MW hit ands dies

At this point I decided that there was no way that the WoE could offer any more resitence and called it end game at this point.

Game Over

Iyanden: 3 (TSNP, BTS, DTF)
WoE: 0

Post Game Thoughts

Not winning the Initiative really did hurt the assault results for the WoE in this game. Follow this with 2 hours of woeful dice rolling, and facing Wraithguard with all their shots and reinforced saves, and the game was over by the end of turn 2.

The list I feel plays fine. I made some mistakes in regards to the Storm Serpent and next time I will know to concentrate on that in the future.

I also have to remember that Skull Lords have Fearless and should not take on any extra hits from Assaults or fired on when broken.

On a final note, I personally believe that the Wraithguard are underpriced for their abilities. MW at FF range is more powerful than MW at CC range as you effectively add another 15cm to the charge range for such attacks. I will however take such observations/discussions to the Iyanden forum.

And you shouldn't use pink Slaanesh dice when playing a Khorne army

You are correct there.

I will rectify that by looking for more dice colours.....   :)

Game Thoughts

Frogbear does seem to have a fair bit of bad luck for his games with the WE.

Take at least 2 Storm Serpents (although I feel they are expensive)

Winning Initiative 2 helped for sure, could have been stuffed if I had not.

I like the Iyanden list even though it is  army pts wise to play, and more often then not find myself with very little units on the board.

My question is why a Chaos Legion and Eldar were fighting in the middle of a Ork city? And where are the orks?

Frogbear thought I was turning up with a Feral ork army, like I have done for the last few months.

What better place to have a fight than in the slums!
