And a complete formation of terminators! (I realise you may have forgotten about them, it happened so early in the game!). Well what can I say. With the Tau allowing the marines to pick on their formations one at a time allowed them to play to their strengths. I probably could have teleported the brown terminators out of MW range of the crisis as I never planned to engage them, their job was flak supresssion. All in all the plan worked. |

You seemed surprised that the Orca only has 4+ armour, not 5+RA. Statistically they are very similar Vs AA (5/9 Vs 4/8 chance of a save). However, the +1 for CAP makes a big difference meaning the TBolts should get 2 hits on average with a 25% chance of an outright kill. So I guess the question is whether this is too unbalanced and if so, what to do to correct it? |

It may not need fixing, I was just a bit surprised. Off the top of my head I can't think of another WE that doesn't have RA. |

Not in the 'regular' armies. In the Dark Eldar, the Slave bringer has DCD2 with 4+ armour though it also has a Shadowfield 'shield', while the Barge of Pleasure is DC3 with 5+ armour and 2x Shadowfield 'shields'. So even here, these are slightly more resilient that the Orca. |

Ork 'Fortresses don't have reinforced armour either. Nor do Eldar Revenant Titans. |

Another great report Mephiston. And congratulations on the win this time. Minor point: the Marine list at the top only has one Thunderhawk, but there seem to be two in the battle. Mephiston you had a really solid plan for the Marines this time, and a nasty anti-tau list. The Orca is noted as not really being ideal/suitable for "hot" combat drops. The lower save represents this well. |

I was worried for a minute and had to do a quick count up of the list posted! Yep, 2800 as listed! I'd happily take this list against any forces. It wasn't selected as a pure anti tau force. |

Sorry I didn't mean to imply that the Marine force was specifically selected as anti-Tau. Just that it was one that had a lot of tools that could be used well against the Tau. |

So Hena, if you knew you were going to face Mephiston again, what would you do different? What would you change about your list? Great report guys! |
