Hi, Flogus and I played a battle of Legion vs. Legion (Titan vs. Steel) about 3 weeks ago. I don't really have time to translate the battle report I made on epic_fr, but here's a LINK to it. Plenty of pictures for those who don't understand French. And of course, you can always ask here if you want details. Here's an appetizer.  ![]() Rules: Epic Armageddon Handbook 2008 Steel Legion: Handbook 2008 AMTL: WarGryphons 3.12 Imperial Guard Leman Russ Company* + Hydra Shadowsword Company* Baneblade Company* Baneblade Company* Shadowsword* Shadowsword* Basiliks Thunderbolts *: Commissars ![]() AMTL Imperator - Supreme Commander Warlord - Volcano canon, Triple Turbolaser, 2 Turbolasers, Sacred Icon Warhound - Vulcan Megabolter, Plasma Blastgun Warhound - Vulcan Megabolter, Plasma Blastgun Sentinels Sentinels ![]() ![]() |

My very basic grasp of the French language is greatly enhanced when it is in writing and I have a dictionary at hand.  ![]() Great models and report! May I suggest you report the result over at alfakta.org? You might win minis free of charge. |

If you read this through Google's translation system, it's fairly easy to read, even if your fluency in French is non-existant. Original Link English Google Translation Morgan Vening |

Then I squat ... uh, I squat with my girlfriend. And I make bad puns. In short, let us return to our sheep. Yeah, what's not to understand?  ![]() |

And gross.  ![]() Just to make things clear, I would never squat with my girlfriend,  ![]() The pun had to do with "squat" (the 40K Squats) and "squatter" (to squat in, in French). So yeah, it was bad.  ![]() Google makes for fun translations sometimes.  ![]() |

It's worth having so many diverse languages for moments like that. ![]() Very nice report. Great to see an Imperitor being used. |

Hehe... interestingly google translates this automatically into swedish in my browser, and its great fun to read. The Imperators' turbolasers somehow become "2 double beds", blastmarkers become "buttons", at some point a sentinel shoots at "indicator animals", "orders" are translated literaly as in the kind you make at a restaurant  ![]() ![]() ![]() ...in short it proves that automatic translators simply dont work for languages as far apart as swedish and french. I cant even find one single sentence that makes any sort of sense. I suspect the verbs are the issue, probably very difficult to get a program to do that... BTW: thanks for the battlereport, and very good job on those minis! |
