First an apology to all with poor screens/eyesight. 1024x768 copies took 40% of allowed space on server, 800x600 took 23%...

The second battle between our "Imperial" Guard. Karegak now had his chance to recover from previous week's defeat... Or was that the other way around? No idea gents, let's fire up them plasma rifles!

The cool traitors sat up on the far side.
Baneblade company, Sentinel platoon, Baneblade platoon (wet variant Mk1).

The sneaky loyalists had first their lousy artillery company and an oversized (looking to Nurgle perhaps, hm...) Baneblade company.
Using the fine orkish structures (can't call them house now, can we?) for hiding an infantry company in their highly susceptible cover...

Not only hiding their foot grunts in buildings, they just had to get their mechanized company into a wood too. Infantry 101, anyone?

The cool guys got the opposite number set up, ready to burst around their wood. But they deployed, as brave as they are, in the open!

Once again we find that dratted geologically inclined Warhound doing it's own thing. Behind a big rock. "Fossiliferous Granitium  Unobtainium" my ass!

Our newly recruited Stormtrooper hangs in the balance from the start, right about in the middle.
Artillery company, right now joyously sharing a cup o'java with the second commissar lead Baneblade platoon.

As can be seen the table is divided by a river. With Imperial Guard it wasn't obvious how this would pan out. But it did so quiet well.

I had the possibility to deploy both Lunar Cruiser, Marauder and Thunderbolt, and he knew it... So I didn't!

The first activation of the battle was important. A chance to cripple the opposing artillery.
I guess the Emperor took a nap...
...and the loyalists never really got them shells working after that.
Strike One against Him.

There was a long duel between first the boarded infantry company and Baneblade ditto. Later both re-enforced Baneblade company and Baneblade (wet) joined in. The Sentinels made a short appearance but got pressing business on the far side of the left flank later on.
This duel went on for ages and wittled down both initial companies. Even breaking the Baneblades for a while!

On the other side an altogether different battled started, and stopped.
My Stormtroopers got totally pommeled. Thunderbolts, mech inf and even the Warhound was at them! Sure they broke in the end, but the loyalist scum had thrown four(!) activations on them and they still wasn't more than broken... Good lads, good lads everyone of them.

Most important was that them bad boy mech inf's first activation got ruined. Wasted on them Stormtroopers had been good enough, but ruined was better, I still had a functional platoon, half platoon, of them!
Strike Two against Him.

I had some R n'R to take care of. And the pressure built, didn't it?

Time for the main battle!

The loyalist scum had driven of my stout Stormtroopers and was now to pay the price!

On their side the HQ Mech Inf. On my side HQ Mech Inf and Baneblade.
Loyalist HQ open up at short range on my HQ, knocking out 2 Chimeras.
They then try to keep the momentum and calls up the hiding Warhound to do battle. Ah what  a sight! It manage to knock out the grand sum of... another 2 Chimeras.

Our brave artillery then open up at the enemy HQ manage to knock some fight out of it.
Time for another case of keeping the initiative. My brave lads in the HQ Company make double shifts and open up at the Warhound as the artillery lifts.
Knocking it out! Despite having quite a few units suppressed.
Strike Three against Him!

Among many other things the Baneblade open up at the loyalist HQ Company and... Well you see that hand in the background trying to scope up all them blast markers...  :vD

Strike Four against Him?

Mm, bugger. My dice rolls in the beginning of the battle were just plain lousy and then it just ran away from me. Oh well, at least we're even now Erik.

There was some confusing now.
Lots of Baneblade and Thunderbolt action. As well as enemy carpetbaggers marshalling and NOT knocking out a brave Sentinel.
The Sentinels marched of to cover ground on the son to be totally vacated left flank. Stormtroopers slowly making their way to replace them against those hiders.
I'm fairly sure my HQ ran of and was in danger of being doubled by his HQ, standing on one side of the far wood each. In the end his ran of and mine moved up the the pivotal firefight.

Two rather suppressed main formations formed up at opposite sides of the river.
My not really beaten HQ Company and a Baneblade versus his reinforced Baneblade Company.
The Ogryns charged over the bridge and the battle was under way!

Saved and delivered hits as shown. He managed four, my braves managed nine, of which six went into the Baneblades. Knocking two of them out!

Last Strike against Him!

At this point the loyalist über-commander conceded.
It was a truly enjoyable fight.
Yes, a fair bit of bad rolls against them Stormtroopers, but they are hard customers!
Apart from that there was lots and lots of nail-biting.  :agree:
Thanks Karegak, a good and nice meeting!

Win or lose it must be a pleasure fighting a battle on that table. A feast for the eyes. Thanks for posting.

Indeed they are Malakai. It's some local gamer that made them for the local game shop. And they look great!
