We played a 4 player game today for the Alfakta campaign, guard vs chaos. http://alfakta.org/index.php Using Handbook 2008, with multiplayer simultaneous game rules. Each player had 4000 pts. Setup below, first turn the chaos nuked both the guard basilisk artillery companies, and a deathstrike battery with well predicted orbital bombardments. Ouch. Pinpoint attacks kill a shadowsword and damage another. |

My ally regrets not getting his thunderbolts painted in time for the game as Chaos aircraft take out a Bombard battery. |

Lots of chaos formations attacking the Imperial right flank... and about to be joined by two Chosen formations. |

My two reavers and an infantry company try and take the Chaos Blitz objective... Both reavers have 1/6 Damage Capacity left, both have reactor damage and both are destroyed end of turn 3. |

Now that is what I would call an Epic battle nice to see a bigger army being taken. Great stuff, nice terrain pieces and pretty impressive formations of models too. Shame you couldn't play a few more turns though. How did you find working with another player against two opponents? Confusing, annoying or easy or what?.. |

Cheers.  Team games aren't confusing in our experience, just use the simultaneous multiplayer game rules from the Epic rulebook and it works great.  I don't think playing any more turns necessary in this case, both armies under half strength and full game length played so was all good!  |

Meh, you just didn't want to see what was coming next is all. + + - Given the same game is there anything you would have done different or would not have done? (with the exception of artillery blitzed from orbit) |

Hard to resist taking 2 Reavers and 20 Leman Russ though...  All boils down to needing to play with more points... then I could take everything I want.  Tactics wise, well we actually managed to survive pretty well given close to 2000 points of our artillery was broken/destroyed before they even got to fire! So not sure we'd change too much in what we did game plan wise after that... |

Yeah, the artillery thing was a bit of a hard kick in the teeth to make a comeback from. Did your opponents plan it that way or was it just good luck do you think? Still, it took four turns to push the IG and even then the Objectives where contested. (Score 0 - 0) Good game, thanks for posting. |
