My only concern with getting rid of the Drop Rok is that it leaves the list with no way to 'reach out and touch' troublesome elements at the other end of the table (like artillery batteries, Deathstrike silos and so on), other than walking towards them very slowly. It makes the army very vulnerable to getting pounded at extreme range.

I don't think the Drop Rok is particularly thematic, so I have no problem with seeing it go, but perhaps some other mechanism for getting a limited number of units into the enemy backfield quickly would be nice?

Fighta bombas can reach all over the table. Lootas in battlefortresses too. Garrisoned stompas that marches on first turn can get pretty far as well.
Mobility should be a downside of this list i think.

Hey guys!

Just wanted to make it clear that i will consider EpicUK lists as valid lists for playtesting! I see no problem whatsoever with using them!

Among its various other downsides. :P

I think I'd missed that the Loota Warband could take a Battlefortress. That provides a certain type of mobility, for sure - though the 0-1 restriction makes Gunfortresses a bit tricky to use. Any reason why they couldn't be unlimited like in the Ghaz Warband?

If the proposal for Oddboys to add +D3 Power Fields to a Fortress is adopted into the Ghazghkull list, will you include it here as well?

I think it's a good limit, you can have the lootas speeding around looking for scrap metal created by the gargants, but don't have the facility to make them into a really effective mechanised infantry unit which would take away the gargant focus of the list.... you can always take flakkwagons as additional transports but that keeps the formation expensive.... which is good, if you want loads of mechanised boyz mobs, take the ghazgkull list with a gargant and some stompamobs, this list shouldn't be about the infantry as much as the big killy stuff

A suggestion on presentation: use two tables.

Gargant Formations: Mega Gargant, Great Gargant, Gargant

Support Formations: Supa-stompamob, Stompamob, Loota Warband, Drop Rock, Fight Sqwadron, Bommer, 0-1 Kill Kroozer

(Any four support formations may be fielded per each Mega Gargant or Great Gargant.
Any three support formations may be fielded per each Gargant.
Up to a third of the points available may be spent on Drop Rock, Fighta Sqwadron, Bommer or Kill Krooza formations.)

Also, where's the stats for the Bommer?

Really like the direction of this list now.

+1 to what Dave said, it'd really tidy things up.

Good idea Dave!

Hmm... No stats for any unit published from me yet. Was hoping to get a hold of a reqritable version of the compendium but haven't gotten any answer so far.
Guess i'll have to rewrite it myself...

I'd stick with Neal's old stats.

That would be a bad idea! Neal made up stats for an Ork Bommer back in the day before there were models for one.

Forge World since released Ork Bommerz (a couple of versions with different weapons) with their Aeronautica Imperialis game and many of us have the models (they're really nice models with lots of detail). The models are large multi-DC behemoths and not represented by Neals stats. If we're having Bommerz as well as Fighta-bommerz they should reflect the models, anything else would be needlessly confusing (and would take away the only good usage for the ork Bommer models people have).

Image

Evil & Chaos has stats for an Ork Bommer in his version of the OGBM list in the 2014 compendium and I would recommend something along those lines. He statted the Bommer with transport, as the AI Bommer can optionally replace it's bombs witih some transport space, but I'd recommend sticking with the standard version with bombs for the list and forgetting the transport option. I could send you a link to read Tactica Imperialis, where the stats for the Bommerz are, if that would help Mordoten?

Yes, but all the FW models are large compared to any other 6mm vehicle.
