Hiya folks, I was thinking of either scratch building a Landa, or Ork-a-fying a dystopian wars model or existing WWII bomber-type-thing. This got me to thinking, how big should it be roughly? 50mm base? 30mm base with overlap? In fact, is there any sort of size guide out there for epic proxy's? Thank you for the advice! Joel |

The metal GW Landa was something like 60mm long, but somewhat underscaled to carry the number it does (as is common with the metal aircraft, the 'truescale' Forge World aircraft were a lot bigger). I'll scratchbuild some Landas too some day and will probably make them around 80mm long. |

Wartraks are probably the longest thing they can carry, I'd build it so it could carry 5 of those. |

I'm probably going to use the Forge World AI Ork Bombers as heavily armed BIG Transport Aircraft ... just food for thought ... |

Actually, (OT), Troublemakers new Lancastrian bombers would work very well as a basis for landa kunvershun work. |

Curis converted an excellent Landa model, orkifying a Thunderbird 2 toy that came with a McDonalds meal (afterall the GW ork Landa design owes a lot to the Thunderbird 2). |

Rofl ... What were we discussing again? Thanks for the suggestions! My understanding is Forge World stuff you need to get lucky on EBay to find it now, yes? Otherwise that would be a great choice! Again, another good find from Glynn, but I'm guessing a hard to find toy! Also those Lancastrean Bombers would be nice. I wish I'd gotten into epic a bit sooner as I missed out on that kickstarter. D'oh! Part of me wants to build the Landa like a Stereotypical U F O but with Orky adjustments. I'd just need to find the right base model! Spectrar Ghost, that could be just the way to go! I was also eyeing a few Spartan Games Armada models. Thanks again, Joel -edited for all the great ideas I missed- |
