A random thought for variant lists...

Forgeworld make an Epic scale Flak gun: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Aeronautica ... -GUNZ.html

For the Gunwagons / Flakwagons, swapping a Big Gun for a Flak Gun is considered a roughly equal swap.

So would the same be true for a ground-based Flak Gun?

Name: Flak Gun
Type: Infantry
Speed: 10cm
Armour: None
CC: 6+
FF: 5+

Weapon: Flak Gun
Range: 30cm
Firepower: 2x AP6+ / AT6+ / AA6+

Notes: Counts as a Big Gun unit for transport purposes.

Perhaps it could be in the Blood Axes list if Nealhunt is interested?

I'd like to have some use out of it, I bought some myself to use in epic so it's a shame it has no stats.

Didn't you make a modern style Ork list at some point? Perhaps it could go in there rather than the Blood Axes? I would imagine in to be used by orks in general rather than being associated with Blood Axes especially.

OT but an Ork drop list with mini drop-roks and drop ships (both from the recent Space Marine game) could be cool too :)

My only concern would be you could garrison large numbers of them, something like that might warrant a price increase.

I did, though it lacked focus and mostly existed just to re-stat things to reflect current 40k as a bit of a thought experiment (Battlewagons being bigger and tougher, Trukks being available to normal Ork warbands, modern Stompas, etc).

I evolved it into the Badfang's Stompy Onslaught list now scheduled to be in Epic: Mechanicus, and in the process it lost most of the new vehicles.

I could see a place for Flak Gunz in Warlord Badfang's Stompy Onslaught.

I think I'll put them in the Stompy Onslaught list and test them out a bunch.

I like the idea of this unit. I think that they'd fit well into Warbands and Big Gun mobz

Not sure which list they best belong to myself. Theme-wise I can't see them in a 'stompy' Ork list as they are quite a static defensive unit, but equally Flakwagonz don't fit the theme either..... :-\

Well if we put the Flak Gun into the Stompy Onslaught list, we could take out the Flakwagon, meaning that there would be no wheeled vehicles in the list at all, only infantry, Kopters, and Stompy things.

Maybe they're towed behind the stompas? I can see the orks hitching up the big guns behind the kans and dreads when moving between battles and then dumping them when the enemy gets in sight.

The Kustom and Mekboy Stompas in the Stompy Onslaught list can actually transport Big Gunz already, so they'd be carted around inside them. :-)

The more I think about it, the more I think it's a good fit.

Wish there was a "like" button- sounds good.

Cheers

Sounds a solid plan.

Ha - checked back in to say on reflection they seem like a really good fit in Loota warbands/Stompy list, but looks like you boys have beaten me to it!

Job done...

You could also try bolting one to a Stompa...

As in counts-as Big Gunz, or you've tested INF Flak Gunz?
