Hi All

Well we missed Talk Like a Pirate Day, so we thought we had better catch the release of Dreadfleet to coincide with this release which has been sitting idle for 4 months.

We wanted to present this list with painted models etc, however the reality is that models will be/are hard to find or need to be scratch built. The fact that we are playing different games (yes, other than Epic) every week, meant that it was just not a reality to get this presented the way we first initended. :(

Background: Initially this list was a discussion I had with Morgan Vening when I had Ork Freebooterz as part of the Chaos Squat list. I was amazed by the ramblings Morgan started to come out with for such a force and so I entreated him to re-relate all this to me in a future session. So it was that we found ourselves at 1am in the morning several weeks later, Morgan pacing up and down a portable office providing his vision of an Ork Pirate fleet, and me writing furiously. I would occasionally interrupt and clarrify certain details or offer suggestions, however this list is Morgan's baby. I knew however that if I did not scribe and present this, it would never see the light of day.

So without any further dribble, I am happy to present the Ork Freebooterz list

Nice :)

Surely the list should have spacecraft (at least the Kill Kroozer as we know freebooterz use them e.g. Kaptain Badrukk's Da Blacktoof) and Landas as normal?

You're also missing a lot of the older Freebooter units I would have expected to be in there. Do you have the old Rogue Trader Ork Freebooterz supplement? They had their own entire supplement and proper army list and everything. If not I have a pdf I can email of it.

I decided ages ago my ork army would include Kaptain Badrukk's Flash Gitz :)

Har har! I actually do have that, however after hearing Morgan's portrayals of this force, it just seemed more fun :D

Note, units such as Khorne's Stormboyz and the genestealer/ork hybrids at an epic level just seemed to be very meh! to us. That was the same for a lot of the units and ideas from the Rogue Trader book.

We did talk about this. At this stage Morgan wanted to keep it simple for the first release.

Apoc also suggested a giant Octopus or Crab! Yet other things to consider on a future update. :)

Unit stats should be very similar

Piratz = orks
Powdar Monkeyz = Gretchin
Bosun = Ogryn
Buketearz (buccaneers) = Kommandos
Jet Skeez = bikes
Transports are comparable to Ork transports

That's what jet skeez are!

the jety in the name had nme lôking for jet bikes - aka dethkoptas.

With 2013 coming up, I thought I would give this a *poke* just in case people were looking for something different for the TOEG.

I don't think I can get to it till about 2014 :(

I'd still love to have a crack at this from a modle making perspective, just don't have time :(
