I have recently started to feel "da need fer Speed" and so have started to look at the Speed Freaks armylist.

I have some questions however.

1) What use does Landas have? Other than delivering Warbikes.

2) If I upgrade Nobs to bikernobs, does the warband still keep the Trukk the nobs would normally ride in?

There's not a ton of reasons in a KoS list, but besides the one you listed (and a 6 Bike, 2 Skorcha KOS formation seems legitimate*), the Landa can scoop up out of position infantry or LV. They're also a fairly robust infantry softener (d6+3 AP5+ can get a few easy hits), and a tactic I've used in the past (in a regular Ork list), is if I'm fairly safe with it, I drop it near an activated enemy aircraft formation and choose to not disembark in the end phase. As it's grounded, it counts as ground AA, and you've got a small chance of downing the enemy, and put BM's on them. Finally, something I attempted to do with an Eldar Vampire (and failed), was to allow Wraithguard to 'engage' an additional 15cm. Wraithguard double 30cm into position, and fire. Empty Vampire does an Air Assault, and as long as it doesn't die in the initial response, the Wraithguard get supporting fire. I'm sure a similar effect could be used with Landas and a heavy Skorcha KoS.

* Currently RAW you can't put Warbikes or Warbuggies/Wartraks in a Landa, due to pedantry. Obviously, you can against anyone whose anal-retentiveness isn't off the charts, but I would have thought the same for Marine Attack Bikes, and that discussion was all over the place.

The latest version (NetEA Draft), I can't see any allowance for an upgrade. Each offering of Nob is "Nob OR Nob Warbike", so the associated Trukk wouldn't be kept.
