Hi there. I was thinking about sculpting/kitbashing some warkoptaz for Epic. Would people be happy with unit like that? I was thinking about stats pretty much like deffkopta plus bit more shooty (extra Deffun Fixed forward arc AP5/AT6) and ability to transport one squad of infantry. What do you reckon? What would you see it point-wise? |

Depends on what you have for the other stats. Assuming you're talking about everything the Deff Kopta has at 35 points, plus another gun and transport capacity, 50 points is the next step up. I wrote stats for a Big Kopta in the Blood Axe list for the same price as a Fortress. Skimmer, 35cm move, fewer weapons than battlefortress and a bit less transport (6 + 4) to make up for the added mobility. Other stats the same as a fort. |

I worked out some rough Warkopter stats for an army list I'm writing to the effect of: Ork Warkopter Light Vehicle Speed 35cm Armour 5+ Close Combat 6+ Firefight 6+ Weapons: 2x Big Shoota 30cm AP6+ / AT6+ Notes: Skimmer, Transport (2 from: Boyz, Kommandos or Nobz. Plus 1 Grot unit in addition to other units) |

Sounds fine. Fire arcs aren't used for anything that's not a war engine or aircraft though. |

but in FW book it says its armed with deffgun or rattler kannon, should it have better shooty powers than deffkopta? or is it complicatiing it too much? |

Quote: but in FW book it says its armed with deffgun or rattler kannon In the FW book it has: - 1x Big Shoota - 1x Deffgun You can optionally upgrade the Deffgun to be a unique gun called a Rattler Kannon. My feeling is the KISS, and just give it 2x Big Shootas, or maybe 1x Big Shoota and 1x Twin Big Shoota (Representing the Deffgun). Blacklegion will soon drop by to tell us what weapon a Deffgun is generally represented by in Epic. :-) |

*BAMF* Yeees masterrr? ![]() Translating the Wh40k stats of a Deffgun into Epic would result in 45cm AP5+/AT7+ As the Deffgun on the Warkopta is Twin -linked: 45cm AP4+/AT6+ Teh Rattler would not generate a ranged shooting attack (to low strength and not enough range). Instead it would boost the FF ability of the Warkopta as it has a potentially insane amount of shots. |

I really hope your model looks better then the forgeworld warkopta... It might also drive the Blood Axe Air Squadron list development forward a bit. |

I built some Epic-scale Warkoptas for Aeronautica Imperialis - they were given unofficial stats as part of an online campaign. I based them on Micro Machines Chinooks and added various bitz. ![]() |

wardancer wrote: I have seen them on warseer.com i believe. Very neat mate ![]() Not an Epic one I'm afraid. Size wise they are about 4-5cm long including the rotor blades, so fairly big as Epic models go. |
