To try and cover all angles, I would like to direct people to here on the SG forum, where we are debating the humble Supa-Zzap Gun.

As an attempt to push the review of this along I have proposed to take a Supa-Zzap heavy list with me to the next Open War Tournament in a months time. So input from fellow boss' on what is big bad and Zzappy will be much appreciated.

I have even more problems making Stompas & Supastompas work than Gunmobz. The shear cost and then for orks the lack of models forces me to play cautiously and a bit un-orky. Also found that the lack of movement can be a killer too.

My gut would say that going suppa gun heavy would not play to the strengths of the ork list. Little use of the mob rule for example.

Yep, it certainly seems that way.  I'm sure that's what took it so long to come to the fore.  It takes advantage of another Ork strength - cheap formations/activations - and pairs that with a very powerful increase in ranged fire.

Has anyone taken an Speedsta heavy Speed Freak army yet? Surely this is a bigger problem.

I've never found them to be a problem.  For a while I was using a Speed Freek list that had either 2 Blitz/1 Big Blitz or 1 Blitz/2 Big Blitz.  Each one took max Speedstas (usually 1 flak, 3 Gun, 1 speedsta).  The Speedstas added nice durability and the shields could basically function as Grots in an assault, but the firepower was still quite light.
