When you say double great gargant do you mean in 3000 pts?

Also. I'm not sure if this has been looked at extensively or not but is it worth perhaps upping the number of support formations gained by great gargants and Megas? Ive been building lists all day and 3000 points is actually a bit of a sad spot for the list.

Or could anyone whose run Gargs at 3k post up their list so I can take some ideas?

Yes, thats right!

Well, the list shouldn't have lots of activations really. Thats one of the deliberate drawbacks of the list. The AMTL suffers from the same thing. So around 8 activations should be normal.

Well this is what I've come up with initially. Ill run it sometime this week or the weekend coming and drop some feedback.

Also maybe just double check I haven't screwed up anywhere?

Great Gargant - 650

No, theres nothing wrong pointswise.

You've armed your GG with pretty expensive options so i understand if you find it hard to get more formations in. I would mske sure not to have 2 BTS formation though.

The tactic I'm keen to se exploited is putting a BTS GG on the blitz and the other between 2 T&H objectives that are placed 30cm apart right by the midline of the board.
Then play for points win at Turn 4.

I've done 2 reports myself with this tactic to see if it's an unbeatable idea. So far i have managed a 1-1 total.

But ifit seems boring to you please feelfree to try out somethinh else. The new Wyrdboy tower, the Supa scorcha and the new stats on the Ripper fist needs to be tested more.

For that list my general plan is Stompa mob on my Blitz.

The shooty GG would plonk between the T&H objectives and lay the hurt down while being backed up by the SSs

The Ripper GG would just triple towards the hardest thing on the field and go for the throat.

The reasoning behind this is due to the low activation count. I feel I should be taking the hard hitters because this army needs to equalize activations ASAP.

No thats been dropped. Having hard to kill giant killer robot behemoths guarding you objectives AND being able to drop in forces by planetfall would be to much Orky Awesomeness in one list! :-)

I had my first game against the ork gargant list the other night and got flogged through my own stupidity. I did have a few simple observations though

I thought the number of activations and the variety of weapons was pretty good but it wouldn't be the worst thing to have a 3 support to 1 core ratio. Ultimately players are just going to flesh it out with planes which somewhat cookie cutters the lists.

The 25pt upgrades seem fairly varied in their use. Some seem really awesome but I others seem fairly expensive for their points. Not sure how to fix this given that the 25pts bit is obviously convenient.

Has it been considered to add a "leader" option? Big men for 25pts who acts like a nob? Possibly giving an extra ff attack but definitely giving the leader ability?

Thanks alot for taking time and posting your thoughts!

Not sure if i understand correctly what you saying about a 1-3 core-support ratio. That is the current ratio (sorta, a GG or MG gives you 4 support slots). How do you mean it should be different?
And to be honest i don't really know what cookie cutter really means used in that phrase... :-)

Is the leader upgrade supposed to be used in all the formations? Right now the lootas can add 1 stand of Nobz to their formation.

Played this list today against a shooty Tau list.
Pulled the win through the spectacular 3rd turn from the Tau seeing them fail 6 activations in a row! (2 @ 2+, 2 @ 3+, 2 @4+) and then the orca that was coming in with his battlesuits went down to a double 6 from the wyrd boy tower!

I found the power level to be right, with Gargants withstanding a good amount of fire power.

The Reinforced Boiler and Wyrdboy Tower are fantastic. The extra powerfields are good for gargants, but probably less so for the Great Gargant.

I'll try and cobble together a battle report a little later.

The stompa's didn't do anything, but I love the models!

I will say this list feels a lot more flexible than a lot of seen - I didn't take anything trying to break the list, just tried to make an all rounder.
