We've had the circular discussions and comparisons to the vampire which does perfectly well as a DC2 air transport without ATSKNF....

edit: I'm not trying to chuck a spanner in the works here, I just think fearless thunderhawks are like bandaging a wound that isn't there, and it makes them better than a codex thawk in several, more 'gamey' regards (the blast marker issue, and also being able to drop them on the deck to engage and contest TSNP without fear of being destroyed if broken within 15cm of a couple of enemy stands is a potential game winner)

I had missed the price increase on the preds, that's a good change :)

Turn 1

EC won strategy, knights doubled and hit garrisoned chosen, killing a couple of stands

EC retain with spaceship, barrage hits garrisoned chosen, breaking them, pinpoint blows up decimator, podding retinue lands near the feral, retains, summons 3 daemons and breaks it

BL then engage podding retinue, reducing to a stand of noise marines, hellblades CAP, BL retinue doubles down the extreme flank and blast markers EC chosen on blitz, thunderhawk termies wipe out havoks for no losses, EC retinue advances, and places a blast marker, then thunderhawk termies engage the retinue, wiping it out

Turn 2

BL termies teleport in behind knights taking 1BM, EC win strategy, knights clip terminators and kill a single stand, taking a point of damage in return, knights win rolloff, hacking down all 4 remaining terminator stands

Retinue engages EC predators intermingling EC BTS, the preds score 4 hits and the EC win the combat, losing 3 preds, the lone pred runs away

single noise marine sorcerer summons 5 daemons and engages and breaks BL BTS
Image

Warphound fails to activate, marshalls, is then broken by terminators, chosen and thunderhawk, it fails to rally

Turn 3

Knights advance and mow down several stands of BL BTS, Terminators engage and destroy the remainder, capturing T&H in the process, Retinue marches to capture blitz, EC take it turn 3, 3-0

Slowly building a EC army but have yet to playtest so my comments do not carry a huge amount of weight yet. But after reading the thread I'm concerned with two things.

1. Fearless thunderhawks might make them too good. They are obviously really nasty even without it.

2. Theres way to few Noise marines in the lists to feel like emperors children. I suspect they might very well be too expensive...

Good news!

EC 4.xx is approved!!!

Thank you to all the playtesters. Your help was invaluable and essential. Dave is working on getting the list into the Tournament Pack and we're scrubbing the document for errors. Stand by for a new thread and list pdf.

Before any skivvies are twisted or conniption-fits had, the list was not approved "as-is". Chaos thunderhawks have dropped fearless, Hell Scourges have been increased in price to account for their general awesomeness, and preds/LRs have gotten a bump as well. An exhaustive list of the changes will be in the new thread.
