@Steve: I suppose you already have given this some thought. It has some advantages (Icon Bearers get some play, makes modelling easier) and disadvantages (possible unbalance?).

I am wondering what were the specifics of not melding Pacts and Icons together when you thought about changing the Daemon rules.

I'm coming from a completely different perspective, where in big games its not always clear what formation follows which god, and having Icons of the different gods would make it easier to keep track of.
