Post subject: | Question about the Plaguelord Titan |
Just putting together the Chaos section for the Army Book right now. One thing that has popped out is that the critical hit effect for the Nurgle titan in the Death Guard list has a wildly(and weaker) crit effect than all the other Warlord-based designs. Is this intentional for the gooey-mass-hard-to-kill monster thing etc or is it an oversight? Cheers |

Hi Dobbsy Best to ask Steve54 regarding this as I also had questions regarding some of the Nurgle stuff when trying to put it all together. My guess is that if the firepower and armour is comparable to the WoE and EC, then just go with the standard crit. When we have the lists out we can start to review these smaller things. My guess however is that if everything is the same, there will be less issue later on. Hope this helps |

The critical is obviously intentional, to make the titan appropriately Nurgley tough. Epic-UK may not have adopted it when they made their version of the Plaguelord, but that doesn't mean it should not be included here. Even if Hena isn't managing the list any more it has presumably been played and tested in the past. |

The list has been round for a long while and it's likely Hena and/or others will have tried out the Plaguelord or the Repugnant (Nurgle Reaver) at some point, both of which have the critical, as well as higher DC, lower movement and different weapons. There's no 1/6 chance of the titan instantly dying, but on the other hand it always causes an extra point of damage and damage to nearby friendlies whereas an imperial titan will actually have no effect from a critical 50% of the time. The former is overall better, but not by that much. The 10cm move is the really huge disadvantage to the beastie, so it needs other good stuff to make it worth it. If you have an issue with the critical why not bring it up in the relevant thread for the list and/or ask Hena? If the list is being included in the army book I assume it be marked as experimental and it would just create unnecessary and unwanted confusion if changes were made for the armybook version. |

Go with the standard crit for this year, changes can always be made for next year with the new DG AC |

Thanks for the replies guys. It looks like all the Nurg-Titans have a different crit so I'll just leave them as is, Steve. Plus I've already formatted them ![]() |
