I need some advice from Chaos type chaps. :-)

I've recently scratchbuilt an Undivided Chaos Dreadnought with Twin Autocannon & CCW for my army, but I fancy doing one for each Chaos God too to spread out in different formations.

What weapons should I give them?

Khorne - Definitely close-combatty - 2x CCW?
Nurgle - Kinda shooty - 1x Twin Lascannon & CCW?
Slaanesh - Sonicy shooty - 1x Blastmaster & 1x Sonic Blaster?
Tzeentch - dedicated shooty? - Twin Lascannon & Missile Launcher?

Yes.
I'd say a mix. Isn't the plasma cannon linked to Nurgle in some way?
Yes.
Yes. Something to indicate it's surrounded by warp flame would be cool, maybe around the feet or something.

I'd say go with a Blastmaster and a CC weapon for the SDread. The Sonic Blaster is more of an assault weapon. I like the others.

There's a Nurgle Claw, Twin Heavy Bolter and Twin Lascannon all to go by. I'd go with the first and last to keep it comparable to the others.

Khorne - definitely has to have 2x CCW: Image
Nurgle - Kinda shooty - 1x Twin Lascannon & CCW? Sounds reasonable. It should either be the Twin Las or the Twin Heavy Bolters as this is what FW went with. Make the CC weapon the specific Nurgle one too.
Slaanesh - Sonicy shooty - 1x Blastmaster & 1x Sonic Blaster? No! They have a Blastmaster OR Sonic Blaster, not both. Slaanesh is about CC and shooting. FW haven't made a Slaanesh specific CC weapon (yet) but I reckon it should have a claw for it's CC weapon, as this would be much more appropriate than the boring generic chainblade.
Tzeentch - dedicated shooty? - Twin Lascannon & Missile Launcher? Yep, that's what FW went with and it seems appropriate.

Sounds good.

So long as can convert at least one of the to Iron Warriors, then I will be happy.

Agree with plasma cannon for Nurgle- simply for more variety if you are going for twin lascannon for Tzeentch.

Look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Cheers

James

Twin Heavy Bolter is more Nurgley (FW made models for Nurgle Twin Las and Twin Heavy Bolters only) and if we're having two regular shooty weapons there's equal variety in having twin Heavy Bolters and Twin Las on the Nurgle and Tzeentch Dreadnoughts respectively.

Possible to ask for a weapon swap for one of the arms at least?

Limiting it to 2xCCW may appear fluffy, but in action (for the World Eaters at least) there are a few issues:
1. Dreadnoughts mainly used as support are found wanting in this case
2. It sits in a role that is already bloated or makes another unit less favourable by comparrison
3. It gives a player choice

I can only ask I guess... ;)

Why not make it quite diseased and pusy so as a player may choose what to use it as and not be limited to a single weapon as lists may change?

Again I would ask for an arm swap from the CCW, however if I were to choose just one, then I guess a CCW and standard weapon (undefined) would be fine.

I don't see a point in making an arm that's just an undefined blob.

If they don't work at 50pts with 2x CCW, upgrade their stats (better CC rating?) or make 'em cheaper. Khorne Dreads should definitely be all about punching things in the face.

Not that that has much to do with models I'm making for myself.

All ranged weapons ... CCW are for Amatuers !! But based on my gaming experience, Dreads and Robots for that matter, never get close enough to use any CCWs. They are too slow, and I'd rather shot you than club or cut you !!! I put my Dreads in support by fire positions ... Another lesson from the L4SoTR ... Image

I would not go specific at all, and make a range of weapons that we can place on them to suit our own needs. FW made a good selection of weapons to put on the dreads. I think to give feel to World Eaters fans and others that offering a chain fist for both arms is a goodidea. I note Frogbears comments on the subject, but think that it is also about the asthetics of the army as well.

Any clues as to what said offer would hold?

Cheers
Aaron

As a commander of men L4 I know you appreciate good options.
