Id be inclined towards version 2 type 2 again, more AR less FF. I see CS artillery being heavy in ways, so fairly chunky and able to stand up to more fire compared to say, a basilisk. and low FF is probably better on big artillery.

Found a use for pulsa rockets, shell wagons for Ur Cannons :D

Well im pretty sure this wasn't what you were thinking of for the Ur, but if CSs made K5s...(might need to use a bit of imagination...as you can see from the blu-tac :P ) ...sorry i got a bit carried away with my pile of bitz ;D

That's pretty funny. I really like the Juggers towing the ammunition. :D

You know all those Juggers could be replaced with Slave Bases....

===============

I have been working on the list and have made all the changes. I will get it out in 2 days time as currently I have other stuff in the way that prevents me sitting down to take a 'last look' before sending it out.

I have made about 15 changes all up.

===============

I like the list a lot. I was just thinking about it last night and it is a list that has had:

- Apoc supplying modeling and ideas for 4 of the units: Damburi, Wardogs, Engines of Hasvaht Type 1 and Type 2
- Onyx supply his idea of a Giant Mechanical Worm for a Hellbore
- Cpt. Drill (Warseer) supply the ideas for the Gladiators, Zigganook, and Ur Cannon
- Morgan Vening for supplying the base stats for the Squats (pre chaos) in general

This has been a fun project where community ideas have made the list what it is so far....

Just as an observation, this list now has underground, conventional and airborne transport. Given the lack of any other CS aircraft the zigga looks a bit out of place when there are 2 other forms of transport as well.

Also which units can be transported in the Cs hellbore? just CSs?

What is your background/fluff on the Rezahk? i can see it gives a small/medium/large WE choice, but aside from that if its mainly just a big cannon weapon on legs, then the Ur is already filling the big cannon role.

And dammit now i want to buy a cankerworm :P

It is big and cool though, you have to admit :) Let's give it a chance. It is a 'skimmer' afterall and not an aircraft.

Ah yes, forgot that one. Chaos Squats, Annihalators, Obsidion Guard

My view is that they are meant to be largish mining vehicles that help either laser cut (maybe shatter?) or blow holes into 'hard' areas. In times of war, they are used for their awesome ability to cut through 'tough' things (if they hit). It was more a stats thing on legs at the time. No idea where it is going. Got some other ideas? (I know you do!) :P

Blame Onyx :D

Hmm, actually no, that sounds like good reasoning and makes sense in background terms, 3BP+Lance rather than just a big TK laser is interesting. Guess ill be adding grundbacks to my shopping list as well.

Ah hadn’t noticed it was a skimmer, certainly give it a chance, the idea of hot-dropping gladiators from helicopters is definitely cool.

I just realised it was not on the list :(

I have just uploaded the list again with 'skimmer'. If you downloaded the list before this post, apologies.

- Recreated formation boxes
- Split Chaos formations from Slave formations

I like <3

- Bikes gained FF4+

I guess this makes bikes more interesting

- Replaced Artillery Support with Engines of Hashvaht
- Replaced units with Engines of Hashvaht (T1 & 2)

- Re-wrote Buggies only replace 3 Bikes
- Road Priest up to 25 points

The Road priest is not an upgrade of a unit, but an additional unit, right?
What I'm thinking about is buggies are sold in packs of 4, so I'd like to have 4 Buggies in a formation x)

- Replaced Fearless and Invulnerable Save from Death Dealers with Reinforced Armour
- Repriced Death Dealers to 175 points

Obsidian Guard and Deathdealers seem to be a great unit. But then again, they cost 425 points *g*

- Re-adjusted various weapon readings to make them more readable

O0

- Removed FF from Large Mutant

Makes sense

- Reduced Ur Cannon to DC3

Dunno wether this is necessary

- Added Chaos Squat Hellbore

That "TK" means all CC attacks are TK?

- Added Reinforced Armour to Doombane (instead of 2BP)

I like.

Now different stuff:

Aren't Annihilators overcosted, given that you replace the chaos squat units?

I don't see any problems with three types of transportation, I think it's rather cool that they attack their enemys from the front, the air and the ground.

Hi Col. Welcome to the dark side of the squat :D

Yes, three upgrades and the road priest is an extra unit, so you can have - 4 buggies, a biker character, and his two biker buddies. Nice and Mad Max-y.

Yes. Be aware that you can also garrison that mega unit *nods head*

Cheers Col W.

Is FxF a necessary restriction on the hellbore? assuming we're all seeing it as a massive mech worm id imagine it would be pretty agile/easy to turn different segments of its body at speed, pointing its hellfire flamers anywhere it wanted.

Geting a bit out of my depth when it comes to stats and points, but are the T1 Engines of H worth it over T2?
A formation of 4 or more T2 fires a 4+/5+ barrage, and in a max formation + doom its 3 templates worth + 3 BM. Compared to T1 which has the same 4+/5+ on its 3x cannons. 13 BP for 475pt even if its shortish range looks much more tempting (although this is probably due to my total inexperience at actually playing EA...just a thought)

Talking of inexperience with EA, would this be a vaguely sensible 3k list?

CS Det + Zharr + wardogs, 1 Annihilator 325
CS Det 200 (in hellbore)
CS Det 200 (in hellbore)
Sentinels 350
Obsidian guard 250
Hellbore 125

Damburi 200
Road warriors 3x MM buggys, 1 road priest, 250
Engines of H, 6x T2 + doom 475 BTS
Slave cast 175
Rezahk x2 450

3000pts, 11 activations looks light on AA and SC is not BTS?

You are probably right. If people just wanted to take the Hellbore mini however, it is a sensible restriction. It's a 45 degree range (?) so I do not think that it is a real issue. Just trying to cover all bases. Let's look at it after it gets used once or twice.

Have not done the 'sit-down-math' on this. The T2 were based against Marine Whirlwinds. The T1 were more or less based on the Khorne Daemon Engines and changed (to offset) the silly stats of an obliterator. Remember if you took 6 that is 18 shots + the possible one shot BP they can also dish out. They also support better in a FF. It is worth looking at however. I will get onto it throughout the week. The goal was to gain this initial feedback - which is good that you are doing.

6x Engines would be 450. Hence the Doombane would take them to 500 points
I am worried that the Obsidian Guard are not going to see much of the battle or get shot up. They really do need some delivery method (from experience), unless you are using them as a blitz guard (?). I would place the Obsidian guard in the Hellbore in place of one of the Chaos Squat detatchments myself.

Not sure overall. The army you took looks like a conglomeration for formations without a purpose. Other than the surprise birthday cake of the Hellbore, what does the rest of the army plan to do?

Then again, I have to sit down and make some trial forces myself as well. :-\

Sorry

I missed these

Ur Cannon - DC4 is quite massive. DC3 should be 'gentlemanly' enough without having an opponent shake their head. We'll see how it goes

Hellbore --> That is correct, it gets its DC as 6+CC TK attacks. This was Morgan Vening's stats and I liked them, hence...

Cheers....

Hum i somehow justified most of it to myself at the time but now that you actually ask...not so sure :P . Was going to garrison the Obsidian guards then try to use them to block stuff mid table for EoH to smash, cleaning up after with Damburi or Road warriors. Sentinels didn't have a role really, was considering ditching them to upgrade the SC formation ( zatans+doom). Rezahk shoot tough stuff. Slave cast as a cheap own half objective contester.

hmmm kollossus proxy in the guise of a massive chaos squat zepplin ...
