As thes bugger are shared between two list i thought to give them a thread of their own. Currently there are two different stats to be proposed (i underlined the differences): Death Guard has: Blight Drone Type Speed Armour CloseCombat Firefight Armoured Vehicle 25cm 4+ 6+ 5+ Weapon Range Firepower Notes Vomit Cannon 30cm AP4+/AT6+ Ignore Cover Reaper Autocannon 30cm AP4+/AT6+ - Notes: Fearless, Invulnerable Save, Skimmer. Red Corsairs has: Blight Drone Type Speed Armour CloseCombat Firefight Armoured Vehicle 35cm 5+ 6+ 4+ Weapon Range Firepower Notes Maw Cannon 30cm AP3+/AT5+ Ignore Cover Reaper Autocannon 30cm AP4+/AT6+ - Notes: Fearless, Invulnerable Save, Skimmer. Considering that the BLight Drone in Vraks 3 is describet to be highly eficient against Infantry i porpose to ignore the Phlegm part of the Maw Cannon and only keep the Vomit part. So this woud give: Blight Drone Type Speed Armour CloseCombat Firefight Armoured Vehicle 35cm 5+ 6+ 4+ Weapon Range Firepower Notes Maw Cannon(Vomit) 15cm AP3+ Ignore Cover Reaper Autocannon 30cm AP4+/AT6+ - Notes: Fearless, Invulnerable Save, Skimmer. |

The last one is most agreeable to myself for the shooting purpose. It means that they cannot stay at range and be most effective. If they wish to have the most potential in kills, they really need to get up close and personal at 15cm I have seen them portrayed as 'flies' on this site. Due to this, flies do not piss people off from afar, they get up close. Hence it works the same. As for the speed, I do prefer the 25cm purely for the fact that Nurgle are a slower force. 35cm really takes advantage of a weakness in the force that IMO should not be closed up. 25cm is still quick and comparable with other Daemon engines (i never knew these classified as daemon engines). Are they meant to be sentient or just mechanicum-like machines with a program that guides them? |

Hena, get you skype up  ![]() So Hena's proposal: ------------------------------------------- Blight Drone - 6 for 250 points Type Speed Armour CloseCombat Firefight Armoured Vehicle 25cm 5+ 6+ 5+ Weapon Range Firepower Notes Maw Cannon(Vomit) 15cm AP4+ Ignore Cover Reaper Autocannon 30cm AP4+/AT6+ - Notes: Fearless, Invulnerable Save, Skimmer. ------------------------------------------- I would be happy to playtest against this however the list may suffer on activations due to the formation (point) increase. I believe the answer lies with the Terminators (not being able to supply support options). I will update the Death Guard thread... |

Surely this beast is a hard list needs to have some weakness to countermand the speed and keep the cost down? So LV 4+ Inv? |

AFAIK Daemon Engines are all sentient beings. After all you "only" put a Daemon into a mechanical body. And "body" is the key part. To my understanding Daemon Engines behave like living beings albeit daemonic ones. They have the reaction of the daemon but this might be hampered by the mechanical body (a arm made out of steel with piston joints doesn't move as fast as one made out of flesh and bone). As Blight Drones are describet as behaving like clusters of flies buzzing down seemingly from nowhere in advance of Nurgle troops and harrasing enemy troops i see them as quite nimble and fast. If you want to keep with only 25cm speed i would suggest Scout to represent their harrasment nature. @TRC as i said in the DeathGuard thread the armour/toughness of a Blight Drones (armour 12/11/10) lies between an EldarFalcon (12/12/10) and an Imperial Chimera (12/10/10) so Armoured Vehicle with an 5+ Save is entirely justified. And those things are quite as big as Dreadnoughts. Look for yourself: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/blightdrone.htm |

Quote: (BlackLegion @ Dec. 04 2009, 19:45 ) AFAIK Daemon Engines are all sentient beings. After all you "only" put a Daemon into a mechanical body. Going to bed soon but I have to ask: So are they Daemons in a robot body or mechanical creations with a set program to seek and destroy? There is a difference. That difference could be the removal of Invulnerable save. Which supplement are they in that talks about them being possessed? |

They are Daemon Engines. |

Daemon Engines are sentient beings (Daemons) put in a robot body. Nothing with programming apart from the typical behaviour/thought processes of the Daemon put in. |

The Land Raider has better side and rear armour than a Leman Russ, but then that's why the Land Raider has the thick rear armour special rule in Epic. |

So this would be tough and fast? Hows that connected? If Nurgle is tough and slow and these are like swarms of flies common sense dictates you need to be cheap to get the swarm effect and fly like, not like Deathguard with jetpacks. |

On coming up with apropiate saves in Epic it seems to be that the original designers only had looked at the front armour values of vehicles. Oh and a Dreadnought has 12/12/10 too. Same as an Eldar Falcon. Originally the Dreadnought had a 4+ Save now with the NetEA mods it has a 3+ save. And it's an Armoured Vehicle. |
