Hi everyone

Well development continues and the ideas are flowing like crazy

TRC suggested a model for the World Eaters months ago that he left with me. It was a design that saw the World Eaters as a legion that were close to daemons and more-so than all other Khorne warbands. His ideas went onto such threads encouraging daemon summoning, as well as Chaos Pillar with Daemonic Focus.

Now we are still a while off trying to balance such ideas, however Morgan constructed a list design taking into account TRC's ideas and has come up with what I am posting as the World Eaters V5.0 list. It gives all characters the Daemonic Pact upgrade, and increases the cost of Daemons. Effectively, you gain the Daemonic Pact ability yet you pay for it when you start buying up your daemons.

Now I am going to attach V4.0 below for reference, and also V5.0 with highlights to changes in BLUE.

I woulod really like your opinions on what you think of V5.0 and suggest (via poll or otherwise) which version you would like to see another 20 games playtested on.

- New cost on teleporting
- CC decrease of Rhino back to 6+

Ok first of all thank you for changing the biggest concern that I had with the list, which was the Daemonic Support Engines (Doom Blasters).

Um as far as questions go, sorry just found the answers to both of them.

i vote 4.0 because let more freedom on choiches. if i want to put demon i buy demonic pact , i won't i don't buy, plain , simple

Uhm, how have they changed?

Is it the whole 15cm - 20cm move that was the issue?


Also of Note: It is not in tyhe Play Document, but Dreadnoughts count as 2 units for the Dreadclaws.

Yes it was the 15cm movement, that I had a huge issue with but you knew that already.

Noted. Do realise that the berserkers and Terminators effectively get it for free if they do not buy Daemons.

Chosen have gone up by 25 points but then that could also be argued that this is their true price (Zombo had initial concerns). The same could be said for the Bikes as well.

In effect, the cost is not realised until the Daemons are bought. At that point, the effect relies soley on the Characters. Seeing they are CC specialists, they will want to get into BtB and therefore have a higher chance of dying and the formation loses the ability to summon.

Upon discussions and comparrisons made, it all balances out in the wash, and we retain the 25 point margins to boot!   :agree:

I have tried to make some forces up with V5.0 and keep coming up a little shorter on activations than I would expect of a list.

I then found that the list was illegal due to the berserker restriction.

I am not sure it is necessary in the v5.0 and I actually prefer the example from the Neal's Thousand Sons (although I hate hard limits or additions) of the 1+ for Berserkers. Otherwise, with the increased costs and the loss of the Bloodgors, I am finding it hard on the activation count.

I am averaging a max of 9 activations (without spamming the bikes) to take a varied list. I liked it better when I hit 10 or 11 with a varied list as it made games hard fought battles. My ground list (teleporting termiesx5 and a Lord of Battles) had 8 activations   :down:

Taking away the restriction would open up the Chosen for more purchases. Not sure if this is an issue.

Give me back my Bloodgors!   :_(

Without mandatory Daemons please. It offers more flexibility and i can'`t see World Eaters always accompanied by Daemons.

Version 4 appears to also have some ommisions such as the Skull Lord in the Berserker unit.

Also the Terminators may be brought down as a ground based unit and any extra costs added to the Teleport ability.

I may consider removing the Berserker requirement for the Terminators and maybe the Chosen here as well. I will make some lists up to see if it is too spammable. Removing it from the chosen at the moment could mean 15 activations all with scout - something I would rather not exist in the list.

No matter. The general feel of the lists is what I am after here so keep voting on which list should go forward for playtesting.

Notes on 4.0

There's no such thing as a "Charge" action, it's called "Engage".

The "using the army list section" mentions the bloodpack upgrade allowing characters on slaughterfiends. Bloodpack is a support formation, not an upgrade, and is allowed no upgrades of its own, so this makes no sense. Hangover from a previous list I presume?

Overall the list seems much more clear and logical to understand than the previous version.

No comment on costs, stats for now.


I'm not a fan on the mandatory daemon route of 5.0
