im starting black legion as a foil to my admech/minervan force. moreso to demo the game for other gamers in my LGS. i picked up 4 of the chaos hordes, i figure that would be a good start, add in som rhinos and land raiders and ill be well on my way.

im not used to infantry though, my 5000 points of minervans doesnt house a single infantry stand, and im looking for pointers on where to go with the force. i want to avoid specific legion lists. i play deathguard in 40k and enjoy it alot, but just want to be able to paint a lil bit of everything for this force.

any help?

One thing I learnt from GothCon was to skip Land Raiders and use Predators instead. As they can be a bunch they can do a lot more than their SM adversary.
Also remember the animosity rule. So you keep each faction hating another in different jobs.

can anyone hook me up with a starter list with what i have? i dont wanna sink a load of cash into the army without trying out the basics. i really wanna get into demon summoning and stuff like that, here are the models i own:

8 command stands
24 stands of chaos marines
8 stands of havoks
12 stands termies (one has a warlord and icon bearer on it)
8 stands noise marines
8 stands berzerkers
16 stands cultists
16 stands beastmen
8 stands fleshhounds
8 stands bloodletters
8 stands demonettes
8 stands plaguebearers
8 stands of flamers
20 stands of loyalist space marines (for chopping up or converting)

You've got a nice amount of infantry - i suggest acquiring some of the low DC war engines one way or the other. Personally I like the Death Wheels but the ferals are also very nice.

Since there haven't been any official models, you've got quite a bit  of leeway, there. As long as they're comparable in size to a scout titan or super-heavy tank, you probably won't go far wrong. Most of the conversions I've seen have had a diameter of just over 40mm, thanks to being based around 40mm bases.

i think i will try using plastic ork wheels, they are already armor plated and spikey. ill just add some gun bitz to the side.
