Do people think it is possible to have an army list with nothing but Daemons in it?

No Daemon Engines, just Lesser and Greater Daemons.

Well, I certainly think so!

Having just got Codex:Chaos Daemons, I think that such a list is possible, if you expand the scope to include Daemonic constructs such as giant warp-spawn and daemonic artillery (which I've done with my list).

Honestly, I can't say how it would play, but I think it would be a fun, characterful army.

It's going to have some inherent strategic limitations but it should be feasible.

Like little to no AA and no Titans.

One thing I was thinking about, and I need to bounce this off Jervis, was that he was talking about having stats for GDs such that they were like small Titans.

The Warmaster GD figs are certainly the size so why not make named GDs in the list and have them available as Titans?

It should be a fluff list and definitely no tourney army. So some weaknesses are intended and maybe wanted. This should be stated from the first moment. If anybody is playing pure deamons he should know from the first moment that it is fun and not too serious.

This would be my understanding of such a list and with this preferences I would go to the design table....

Given that both Fantasy and 40k have an all demon option and in 40k Apocalypse you can even have a unit on Angron and 2-12 Bloodthirsters as his retinue I think Epic has room for a Daemon list.

Greater Daemons are already 3DC WEs and we know there are bigger and badder daemons than the basic Greaters.

Put avatars of the 4 Gods in the collectors section then you can have a duel between the Avatar of Khorne and and Imperator Titan.

Well I think that there can be an aim to create a tourney army but that there wouldn't be any disappointment if it wasn't able to meet that goal.

mhm, I have sure not the mega-experience in list designing (my tries are far outclassed by the lists here) but the best result I got when I tried to aim maximum fluff. I got not the best lists, for sure but far the funniest to play against (at least my mates stated  :vD ). I look at deamons as a niche to be honest. there are dozens of lists arout, chaos is for sure not lacking tourney options  :glare: . Maybe it´s time to aim at pure fluff..... not mentioning the lacking playtesting....

I'd like to see more daemon-engine type units personally. The Soulgrinder background seemed to suggest there were other true daemon engines out there, and that the 40K version was the smallest of their kind.

The Warmaster Greater Daemons are fine for the current Greater Daemons in the two Chaos army lists.

They are DC-3, and are slightly smaller than a Warhound Titan (DC-3).

The greater daemons from previous editions of Epic are really far too small (They look more like AV's than WE's).

If you wanted a true 'titan' sized Greater Daemon, why not use a 40k scale GD?

DC-10 or so!

Stupidly ridiculous to get a hold of even on eBay. I want to build a list that people ahve a hope of trying to assemble minis for :-)

Besides, don't you think that they all look a little dated now?

Then use some of the Special Character Daemon models from 40k ; You can't use the Warmaster ones as they're simply perfect for the already-existing 3DC version.

Also, didn't Chroma write a nice Daemon Legions army list?
