Okay... (deep breath) ... Chaos aircraft. I think we're reasonably close to consensus on these guys. Things to note: - I would rather get rid of the "or" clause in the Hell Talon profile ideally, but I can live with it if necessary - Yes, going with TRC's radical suggestion that if the Hellblade looks like it's armed with reapers, and we're going to give it reaper autocanon profiles, why not be done with it and call it reapers? - Anyone any idea why I've called it a Swiftdeath? |

It seems to me that this is a good a time as any to dump the "Swiftdeath fighter" and replace it with the Hell Blade, which at least has a model. Is the "swiftdeath fighter" a canon thing, or what? |

- Yes, going with TRC's radical suggestion that if the Hellblade looks like it's armed with reapers, and we're going to give it reaper autocanon profiles, why not be done with it and call it reapers? This is the same TRC who's so concerned about the weapon being the wrong type on the Sentinel that he included 'change Sentinel's pattern name' in his IG changedoc?  Call them 'Helltalon Autocannons' if you want to change the range, because as far as I know it is not armed with Reaper Autocannons for a simple reason: - The Hellblade is a 'modern' design in the 40k scheme of things, it's not a relic of the Heresy like the CSM, it's produced 'currently' in the timeline by a traitor Forgeworld. Therefore, it has an Autocannon. Change the range if you like, but keep the name seperate from the Reaper Autocannon. Is the "swiftdeath fighter" a canon thing, or what? It's a BFG space fighter aircraft. FW may be making a model for their space-set follow up to Aeronautica, but it'll most likely be in a different scale (One quater of Epic's size). |

Judging by how aircraft have less DC for their size than ground vehicles, you'd be looking at a bomber with 3 / 4 DC. Hardly a DC9 Bomber (Forgeworld's Manta stats from IA:3), but still a tough cookie. |

The whole name-game thing with the "Defiler Heavy Flamer" is okay in an emergancy but I think the reaper shoe fits here. I presume we're not even considering stating up the Harbinger Bomber? *Starts to look panicked* Uh... no, I don't think so! Quite enough on the BL plate as it is... On the other hand, if you want to throw stats around for one it could make it into an appendix without points associated with it. What exactly are we talking about here? I'm not sure what one is. |

I'm not sure what one is. It is an Epic scale super-heavy bomber that ForgeWorld sell.  It would be DC3 or 4, and would have a ~BP6 Ignore Cover bomb load. It would have 'Speed: Bomber' |

Ooooh... Shiny! Yeah, now you've jogged my failing memory, I did notice that when it came out. That's a big lump of awesome, so yeah - let's get some stats going for it. I wouldn't be too confident of it getting into the main list right now, but we should definately get some stats into the appendix! I'll start a new thread on that seperately - let's keep this thread to the two main types of aircraft. |

Hmmm......ok the stats look good. I'm not really hapy with giving the Hell Blade Reaper Autocannons. I mean...come on...if you have the ressources to put a long ranged weapon on an interceptor...why would you use a short ranged one? If you think 2 x 45cm AP4+/AT5+/AA4+ is too good then make it a Quad Autocannon with 45cm AP3+/AT4+/AA3+. All the weapons on a FDighter fire worward on the same targetanyway. It is not so that each weapon has a sponson which justify a shot onits won like the multiple weapons on a Leman Russ. (so a Thunderbolt would have a Twin Lascannon and a Quad Autocannon as wysiwyg weapons, too). Oh and the Harbinger should be an Appendix unit at the most. |

Its bombs do ignore cover. I had wondered whether 2BP might be more useful... aircraft bombers are rarely useful unless they have at least 3BP in my experience. |

Leave it at 1BP. It will get too expensive/powerful otherwise, and it?s meager bombload doesn?t actually support upping BP much. |
