If you have an Icon Bearer in your formation you can keep any Daemons Summoned on the battlefield. But can you decide to send some back into the Pool if you don't want to maybe move them to another formation at the start of the next turn. |

Hmm do you get Blastmarkers for Daemons out of formation? For example: You summon daemons in a Retinue with Rhinos. Inthe next turn you want to move fast and use a double action so load all units in the Rhinos and move on but the daemons are to slow to keep up and are destoyed thus. Does the Retinue now take Blastmarkers for every daemon which is destroyed in this manner? |

You shouldn't... you don't get blastmarkers for removed daemons |

No blast markers. But since they count as destroyed, they don't return to the daemon pool, either. So that approach would prevent them from slowing down an otherwise fast-moving formation, but it wouldn't allow them to be re-summoned elsewhere. |

(nealhunt @ Apr. 09 2007,16:20) QUOTE No choice is provided for in the rules (though that might have been a good option to include). ?If you have a Daemonic Focus, the daemons stay with that formation until killed. Well, in the write-up for the Daemonic Focus ability: "Certain Chaos units are noted as having Daemonic Focus. Units with this ability may keep any or all summoned units that belong to the formation in play. "May" is usually giving permission, not an "absolute", so there might actually be room for interpretation. |

Chroma's right.... you may chose to keep them or return them if that is the wording. |

Okay. You're right. That does create a choice. Apparently, we're so good that we build in cool ideas without even thinking about it. (and if you believe that, I would like to talk to you about some real estate...) |

I'm confused (not for the first time!) If you 'choose' not to keep a daemon does it return to the daemon pool (presumably to be summoned again at some later time) or is it taken out of the game completely? Lightbringer ![]() |

It would go back to the daemon pool. |
