This is where we had a little bit of difficulty: how is the Daemon Pool scored against in Tie-breaker? ?All the daemonic units had been eliminated from play (pool was empty), and we both agreed they should count as destroyed, but we didn't find anything clear about this in the rules. ?Wraeththu, could you clarify this? |

Your opponent scores a number of victory points equal to the full points value of the Daemon Pool if all daemons have been completely destroyed, plus half the value if the Daemon Pool is reduced to half strength or less. ?Broken or unbroken does not come into play since the Daemon Pool is not a formation. I played a 3000 point game against Codex Marines on Thursday, and during an assault, my Keeper of Secrets was wounded down to 1DC. ?I won the fight, and in the End Phase, I let her "return to the Warp", and in the following turn, I summoned her back... at full DC. ?Is this supposed to be the case? Has anyone else used this to "heal" damaged Greater Daemons? ?Is this a specific intent of the recycling? |

So in Chromas case: if the Keeper of Secrets with 1DC left returns to the deamon-pool and he summons this Greater Deamon back as a Lord of Change, then this Lord of Change would have only 1DC? |

Yes. It may seem a bit odd but It would not be fair to get a GD knocked down to 1DC then intentionally send it back to the daemon pool just so you can heal it and then summon a new 3DC GD. -Audrey |

But isn't the GD essentially "reformed" when it's resummoned? I'm not sure it's terribly abusive to allow the GDs to come back "whole", as one still has to roll 8 summoning points, still has to let it go and hope you can get it back before being fired on, etc. For it to retain damage in the Warp, especially if summoned as another type later in the game, doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me. |

Its the Warp. It makes absolutly no sense. Insanity and chaos are the norm. It is completely unpredictable. There are three ways to look at it: 1) The essence of this GD has been unstabilized and it may remain that way for sometime (and this must be the case because that is what the rule is representing) 2) Or there is no explanation, its just for game balance. 3) A combination of the two. It was done for game balance, and here is a way to justify the rule. |
