It's the very reason why this thread started in the first place. That and combination of fearless and scout on a unit.

The event is the third turn and either do this or lose kind of situation. That also means that enemy doesn't necessarily have the required extra formation or two which could achieve this as they would need to kill the units with hits.

I've yet to see it actually be a problem in a game or batrep though, what units would be fearless+scout?




Most formations which would be fearless are (or should be) only 4-8 fearless units - with the cost of the formation ramped up with non fearless transports etc. Therefore you are spending comparable costs for similar numbers of fearless units - and eldar players haven't been bloacking with them.



Every time I've played with a cult-marine army then one of the weaknesses has been low activations due to the high cost of fearless units so its quite possible that you will be heavily out activated come turn3 - especially with everything rallying on 4s or 5s. If you do this blocking in turn3 then come turn4 the likelihood is that you are going to lose more heavily when nothing rallies on 5s.
