250 points for a non-fearless THawk is way too much. With all the games we played here with Corsairs, and the fearless in the IC I can't see them being worth more than 175 points.

175 is far too cheap, especially given that you can get a set of chaos terminators for 275 points to put in it....

yes it isn't as good as the loyal thawk, but that beast still explodes if you lose an assault.... as does the vampire, orca, ork landa or whatever the dark eldar have

cross-list comparisons are always flawed, but given the number of cheap and potent loadouts, I would see thunderhawk spam as a particular problem for this list, however as a raiding, pirate-like force, I would be loathe to limit access to air assault because it's basically too effective

it's more than taking the thunderhawk individually, it's how the list synergises around it, having faced the red corsairs a couple of times in the more-than-capable hands of dptdexys and having had an utter kicking every time, I'm inclined to say the list is plenty powerful as it is.... in comparison to codex marines you have access to daemons and several effective daemon engines, the excellent chaos aircraft and enlarged basic retinues, in comparison to black legion you have access to a proper strike cruiser (which has 1+ int) with a two-template barrage as well as deathwind pods to nicely prep your assault with summoned daemons or fearless cult marines, you also have an air assault capability which matches codex marines in destructive potential, yet costs less, considerably so if chaos thunderhawks were to be 75 points cheaper..... I'm not sure the removal of ATSKNF and SR4 balances all of those advantages

I'm willing to consider lowering the cost of chaos thunderhawks, but would need to see some evidence to show they are overpriced (so we're talking loading them up with terminators+DP and going in against a properly prepped target, just like codex marines would)

let's also just consider the vampire, it's 200 points and considerably less tough, it's Int2+, breaks with 2BMs and has no defensive rearward AA shooting.... as an Air-assault delivery unit it pales in comparison to the thunderhawk... making the chaos thawk cheaper than a vampire is pretty 'out there' IMO
