Isn't it simpler to just write two different lists? Epic is supposed to follow the DBx design idea of anything different gets a list. (And as a bonus you get to finish the siegy one first without distractions.)
To be honest I have no interest in an Iron Warrior air assault army, but wouldn't stop anyone else doing it. However I do know that air assault options really change the value of formations - hence nessecitating two lists. Anyone not familur with this needs to play some more games, look at the viability of formations in the marine lists and go over past discussions that explain all this in painful detail.

What purpose would there be to writing another amy list when only 2 or 3 units would be different?  :sulk: This could be confusing to new gamers, which list should they play or correct. In one army list it would be clear to anyone what are the options and terms of choosing your force.

See above edited reply for Epic design philosphihy and the affect of air transports on formation costs. (Here's a clue, check out assault marines.)

Yes, now I see your point. Didn't get the points changes at first, just considered unit availability. so unless the owner of the list wants to tag in sth else in this idea, we're done  :agree:  - and forgeworld won't get my 17.60 for now  :vD

So we're left with:
- Titan changes
- Orbital Bombardment changes - if any

And BTW, Iron Warriors used assault companies (those Khorne influenced, but not World Eaters Berzerkers), so how about adding a formation units with the stats of Raptors (cc 3+ etc), no jump packs just transports?

@ Steve54

Didn't you include different (seige orientated) stats for the Titans in the list when you gave it to me.

Yes - but I had a look at them and thought they could be better so I'm going to try some different ones

No Obliterator Formation? And why only a 0-2 Upgrade for Obliterators while Black Legion can take up to 3?

I was wondering the same thing... hmmm an obliterator formation might be too much, but why 0-2 I have no idea. They have the most Oblits of all the legions.

What about an assault company (but not berzerkers) Steve?  :) just good old Chaos Space marines with bolt pistols & chainswords

You mean in the old style of assault marines without jump packs in Rhinos? With no air transport options it at least might vaguely get used.

They have the most Oblits of all the legions.

Certainly they are the iconic Obliterator-users, having had a hand in creating them / the tech-virus that creates them, IIRC?

I presume this list would use the ERC stats for Obliterators, and so there wouldn't be a problem with formations of 4 infantry units putting out 12x AA5+ shots, as you would have with the original stats.

As teleporters though would they not be a bit much? Two lots go in, one humongous crossfire later and death all around?

Would they be any worse than Teleporting Terminator formations, what with the Terminator's ability to be led into CC by a Daemon Prince, and also considering that an Obliterator formation would doubtless be the more the expensive formation choice?

As at the moment the list is using the netERC tourney change rather than the contentious and experimental playtest changes the inclusion of oblit formations would mean they just acted as static blitz-guards - in cover with AA.

0-2 is basically as my preference would be for oblits to be 0-1 in the BL list and therefore 0-2 in the IW list where they are more common.

Maybe we could have the 'Grand' Company as 6 CSM then either 2 havocs or 2 assault CSM?

hm that would be a step in the right direction  :) or we could make an upgrade of 0-4 cc marines? Right now we only have Terminators or 0-1 raptors to take the breach done by the artillery.  :)

Ps. will send you the pdf in the evening, I'm having a slight problem (the charts are a little scrambled when I create it from the word document and don't fit the page as in Word)
