So they are a recent fall to chaos. That is modern gear with some chaos stuff thrown in.
From the background he commands humans and marines, though this list focuses on marines?
The same reason why Space Marines and Imperial Guard are two separate armies.
And 100 years is not THAT recent.

I didn't think Huron was a Demon Prince? So why is that unit in?
They are allies tohim inthe same way as Daemon Princes are allies to Abbadon despite that he isn't a Daemon Prince himself.
Quote:
I would change the chaos names of powers like Warp bolt to Imperial weapons and abilities to make the link to the Imperium feel stronger. Raptor to assault marines etc.
They are the same units as in the Black Legion armylist. So no point in changing the names if the unit itself remains unchanged.

Why have the terminators re-equipped with Heresy era Reapers?
Reaper Autocannons are easier to maintain. Assault Cannons, Land Speeders etc soon fall apart without the nessesary equipment and ties to the Adeptus Mechanicus.

In fact I could go on in this vein, pointing out all the god specific stuff and whatnot.
As with the Daemon Prince. They are allies persuaded and/or pressed to serve the Red Corsairs.
Quote:
Really it doesn't feel like a Red Corsairs army at all. Maybe change your background to fit your troop selection? Call it 'renegades' or some such and have it cover a wide variety of traitors. Calling it Red Corsairs seem is misleading. (How for instance are they re-supplying with Abaddons gear from the Eye of terror on the other side of the galaxy?)
It has a reason why it says "General Chaos Marines" in the title of this thread

I chosed the Red Corsairs because they are GWs showcase Renegade Chapter Chaos Space Marines. In truth the name is int erchangeable with say the Cleaved, The Flawless, and all the other non-Legion Chaos Space Marines.

Perhaps then have an appendix where you show how the army list can be used to make a Red Corsair marine raiding force. Or do it as a second list. So not god specific, no heavy formations like Warlord Titans?, a 'normal' supreme command etc.
So to continue in that vein (pretending it isn't a red corsair list) and going on about balance for the renegade legion (so no comments like why no Imperial aircraft, Imperial gear rather than chaos stuff from other legions etc etc).
Interesting idea.

Warlords - pants weapon selection, fool to take it. Though this could be intentional?
Yes it is. Points cost is still up to debate as well as the final weapons loadout.
Quote:
Drop pods - so they have deathwind attacks? Bit better than the BL then, anyone done anything with that? Otherwise the rules are confusing. Are they going to make any formation that buys them immobile and can get fired at and whatnot?
Don't understabd. Apart from what they can transport they are a direct copy-paste from the Space Marine Drop Pod.
Quote:
Anyone tried dropping all those fearless cult marines with drop pods? And 2 fearless dreadnoughts.
Not that i know of.

Whats the point of oblitorators?
Add some hart to kill firepower to a unit.
Quote:
There are a few units like this, like for instance why get Havocs (Devestators) for 50 points when you are in effect only getting 4 extra autocannon (missile launcher) shots?
Black Legion army list has this too withthe exception that they ADD units. In the Red Corsairs list thes REPLACE units. I should review the points cost (as i said: i suck ad points cost for things)

I'd be keen on cheap (250) hunter formations for AA cover.
I guess with Hunters, Desecrators and Hell Blades the army has enough AA units.
