Thanks, Couchmonster.

Did the low initiative cause a balance problem or was it just aggravating?  Because to me. from a flavor perspective, it seems trying to command daemons into a coordinated effort should be pretty darn hard and failed activation rolls should be an expected part of the army.

OTOH, if it caused balance issues, then some sort of adjustment is in order.

There is however a major problem, the low intiative of the army made it exceptionally hard to get off the necessary activations that could have turned the battle for the daemons, I had a couple of formations that did nothing for a couple turns which was frustrating to say the least.

As well, with the "Factions" rule, if there are no "hated" faction formations within 30cm (I think that's the distance) then the formation gets +1 to their to their rolls, so the same as Init 2+...

Mixing too many Factions on the battlefield at once is *supposed* to cause problems!  *laugh*

P.S.  Any pictures of the conflict?

I had kept the factions issue in mind & planned my setup accordingly to avoid this & wasn’t too much of an issue until some tzeentch dedicated renegades pegged it into the middle of my khorne/nurgle flank & caused a bit of a kerfuffle as the GUO stared at them menacingly for two turns! I think a lot of it may also have been down to the hideous amount of 1’s rolled for activations.

I seem to remember someone thinking the instability may be a problem. It’s really not an issue unless like me you manage to roll high every time. During on turn I did more damage to my army than my opponent!

I didn’t have my camera with me on the night, & my opponent has only just purchased his army, so piccies weren’t taken on the night but I can certainly provide some pics of the army I used if you’d like?

But yeah I really enjoyed the list & will be using it more often.

Very cool!

That motivates me to fix it up and add in the Daemonic Cavalry and such properly.

I'd be interested on how you were going to do that as I was thinking of making that my next purchase for the army.

Gonna review the "Cult" Chaos Marine lists and see if they've got them statted up there and then work out points for them; if not then review the "collector's models" stats and work from there.

Gotta finish work on the Tyranids first though.
