Well... I quite like them as a seperate formation, but then I would... ;)

I deliberately made them a separate formation. It's something that differentiates the list from the Black Legion and the other cult lists. It was to reinforce the concept of the Children as a firefight-heavy army. I also wanted to avoid changing the formation size in infantry from 6: obviously permitting a mix of units could fix that, but I don't really like that, too much detail. Lastly, I quite liked the idea that the Children would seperate off the REAL nutter noise marines, the very most jaded ones, and give them the toys they need - AWAY from the rest of the warband!

Which isn't to say that I'm closed to the idea of making mixed formations, but havoc formations were a deliberate choice on my part, so I'd need some convincing on this matter!

Well I'm okay with them in their own formation - just make them a bit cheaper - if the system would be same as for space marines, they should cost 375.. (the upgrade is quite similar) =]

(6 tactical - 300, about 45/piece. 4 devastator - 250, about 57/piece - 12 per unit -> +~75 for 6 )

and/or give them that AA6+ idea..

I would like to start testing the list before I call for price reductions for the Havoc formation, but I do like the feel of this formation.

With the problem of should vehicles be fearless or not, could we add in an option to buy normal rhinos, pred, LRs and an option to buy them with demonic posession (thus fearless) but costing more? This would allow for the army to be tailored to each camps current wishes, but reducing the overal size of a fully fearless army. Of course models would require to be suitably painted / modeled to show the difference between posessed & non and there should be no mixing within a formation.

Dropping fearless from legionnaires would further restrict the number of fearless units, but a purest could decide not to use this formation to maintain the ideal of all fearless formations. I like the idea of non fearless formations in the army as it seems to me that the fully fledged EC would want those around them that they can see non-perfection in and thus gain enjoyment in pointing it out to them.
