I debated that, but figured the 2 point drop in Strategy Rating could well be worth those 15pts, so I rounded down instead of up.

Playtesting will doubtless settle it, mind you.

Actually Ben i would have thought a t-54 substitute would be in order.

Small and light enough to be easily shipped, okayish gun, reasonable speedy. So 4+ save, speed 20-25, main gun, secondary heavy stubber. Rags are big and heavy and I couldn't see them being easily shipped in theatre.

I'd rather stick with GW-available models however.

I would allow Leman Russes as upgrades. So the Ragnarock are the MBT in companies which canbe reinforced withthe more rarer Leman Russ.

They shouldn't have acsess to Shadowswords. And even if they had some they would quickly burn out the capacitors wich are very difficult to replace. So Stormswords would be the norm.
Conclusion: Single Baneblades and single Sstormswords would be the only super-heavy tanks.

As spacecraft they would mainly use armed transports and heavy transports, perhabs a few Rouge Trader Cruisers too.

If they want SHT's they should only get Stormhammers which are I think the bargin basement designs and battlefield refits.

The Blood Pact explicitly use Baneblades on several occasions in the books, never Stormhammers.

What about giving the choice of Baneblades, Stormswords or Stormhammers as a 0-1, single unit?  Although I can appreciate E&C's point about the depiction of Blood Pact using Baneblades, I think it'd be nice if this list had the flexibility of choice that it represents any Renegade Chaos army, not just the Blood Pact specifically...

I've just been thinking, given that this army are fanatic worshippers of the Chaos gods, do you think that they should have access to a unit like the Chaos Altar in the L&tD list?  Or would that make it too much like that list..?

Finally, if we are going to let the Armoured Formation take Russes, what sort of points cost?  I was thinking along the lines of...

"The player may exchange up to 3 Ragnaroks from the formation with Leman Russes for +40 points each"

Does that sound reasonable?

I don't think stormhamers exist in the black library, possibly linked to model availability :) (Really we have more variation in armour today on earth than the whole galaxy does in 40k.)

Actually the Blood Pact use at least four tanks that GW have never made models for:

STeG-4 (some kind of light IFV I think)
AT70 tank (medium tank, not as good as a Leman Russ)
AT83 tank (medium tank, about as good as a Leman Russ)
Stalk-tank (light tank, uses legs like a Defiler but is smaller)

I've been mulling this over and think that it could be a cool idea to have an Unholy Altar type War Engine.

I am still against giving Leman Russes to the Crimson Bondsmen.

Still working on this? Any idea where the Epic: Maelstrom thread is? :(

Well, have had no playtest reports, so if you want to push on your supplement project, I'd suggest whipping up some playtest reports? :-)

It's here if you want it. In my experience, people start to playtest more when they see progress on the supplement.
