From now until the beginning of GenCon I will be selling the entire Dark Realm range for 20% of the regular price. https://www.cloudcitygames.biz/shop/ The online store has been updated and the prices there already reflect this discount. The Alien terrain is on its way and as soon as it is in it will also be available at 20% off. My restock order is still in transit and I am expecting it this week but until it shows up I have low stock on the Andy minis. |

Yeah, what happened to the decent shipping options? I made an order of about 6 items, and small packet shipping was a whopping $15. |

(Otterman @ Jul. 26 2007,06:36) QUOTE Yeah, what happened to the decent shipping options? I made an order of about 6 items, and small packet shipping was a whopping $15. It all depends on the weight of the package and which box the system tries to put it in. There is also a fuel surcharge that Canada Post "remembered" to add to the system after I complained about the disparity between what they quoted you and what they charged me. And are you looking at Expidited shipping again? Its ridiculously expensive. Even Air shipping is cheaper. |

BTW when you're looking at postal options you should cut the time estimates in half for the Small Parcel options. I'm still talking to the Canada Post IT department to determine why they are so much higher than the official Canada Post estimates. For example, Small Parcel Surface to the US gives an estimate of 2 to 4 weeks on my site but it says 6 to 12 business days on the Canada Post website. |

4 blisters comes to $8 for small packet air, which seems vaguely right. Adding 1 Kraytonian heavy flier increases that to $15. Adding 2 Kraytonian heavy fliers increases that to $20. It just seems kind of weird. I want to order stuff, I really do, but something in me freaks out about a $5 surcharge per miniature. |

(Otterman @ Jul. 26 2007,09:05) QUOTE It just seems kind of weird. I want to order stuff, I really do, but something in me freaks out about a $5 surcharge per miniature. There isn't a $5 surcharge per miniature. I actually don't appreciate you posting misleading comments like that. You're adding two boxed sets to the order and pushing the weight of the parcel up beyond the 500g weight limit for Light parcels and then probably over the 1kg limit for Small parcel. I just tested this and that is exactly what happens. I would expect that ordering a set of boxed miniatures that are close to .3kg each will indeed push the price of your postage. I appreciate the comments but there are very good reasons why your postage increased the way it did and there is no reason to be posting things like the "$5 surcharge" comment. |

Please forgive me. I didn't mean to imply that you, personally, Pixelgeek, was adding the surcharge. I feel that you're doing a wonderful job and service with Cloud City Games. You have treated me fairly and uprightly in all of our transactions. My frustration/confusion is with the opacity of Canada Post's categories, and size/mass pricing arrangements. A bulk of my experiences with shipping has been USPS priority mail, where relatively large packages can be handled expeditiously at the $4 price range, and this translates poorly with my international expectations. Once again, my apologies for my prior poor phrasing. Sincerely, Todd |

(Otterman @ Jul. 26 2007,10:16) QUOTE My frustration/confusion is with the opacity of Canada Post's categories, and size/mass pricing arrangements. No argument there. They are impossible to deal with. Your three main weight categories are going to be at .25, .5 and 1kg. The system is also set up with a series of box definitions that have the size of the box, the weight it can carry and the weight of the box. Earlier on I was able to add a small box to the system so a lot of the smaller orders (under 8 blisters) got a lot cheaper... at least on paper as I typically gave people refunds when they made small orders prior to that as the shipping was less than they paid. So the entire thing gets pretty complicated as you increase the weight of the order as not only do you run into rate changes from Canada Post but you might move into a new box size than then increases the cost. I agree that the USPS seems a lot easier to deal with. As long as you aren't sending stuff outside the US. |

Just drive it across the border to the USPS, we'll pitch in for the mileage. ![]() For anyone who didn't notice, Zak had my stuff packed up and in the box ready to ship within 5 minutes of me placing the order. Spooky-fast service. ![]() |
