They aren't smaller than the void shield toting warhound, that's for sure!
Just put 'em on a kitchen scale and you'll see.

Squats can afford to have smaller Super Heavy Tanks as they are vertically challenged and can spare the space, it's all so obvious.  :vD

Then the E40K SM Cmd figs are almost the size of Ogryn !  ?Holy Scale Creep Batman !!!
Could it be an intricate malevolent plan to get us all to gradually play 40K...  :oo:

You could take the odder looking minis (scale wise) and mod the crivens out of them until you have a working/satisfactory new model? (Jeez, one attempt at a few simple infantry models and you'd think I new it all, eh?)

It's a failed plan as the conversions we have seen is how to use 40k models to make Epic ones!  :vD

And we are NOT challenged by alleged accusation about being... short.

I married one. She may be petite but she can put me in my place when she wants to. Why are wee wumin so violent to tall men? Rhetorical Off topic comment sorry.

Yes Warhead, the nightwings are especially beautiful AND the wings actually can sweep forwards too
     Aw, nuts and I was saving up for painting supplies too. Ah well.

ps, here's a baneblade and a half
So is the SM Baneblade comparable to the Specialist Games one? That is one Huge! Baneblade and as stated by L4 more realistic scale. It seems to me that having a smaller model provides the unintentional advantage of providing a smaller target silhouette. Pity the bigger models are just so cool looking.

Edit: Sorry re-read this thread and found answer to the Pointless Baneblade question.
Also used time to cruse through FW's site with long pause at Nightwings!  :wow:  serious thoughts of becoming new player of Aeronautica Imperialis if I can get others interested here.

Now, now L4. Don't be too hard on 40K your scaring the kiddies.
I share your views but 40K does introduce tabletop to the young and draws some into our world where we can experiment on them... I mean guide them to a more worthy gaming experience.

I'm all for 40k, it mean we can play Epic on a grander scale. :D
Problem is that most space marine players haven't invested in a rhino per squad...

They will, they will. Rhinos are absurdly good in the new edition.

Isn't it normally the case that Tank crews would benefit if they were... shorter of stature than the average height? I don't know if this is required in modern tanks but I bet there are examples throughout WWII.

I really like the Aeronautica Imperialis Nightwing mini. Purty!

I'm almost positive the US Army in WW II did have a height maximum for tankers, as did ball turret gunners.

My Great uncle was a 6'3" Norwegian, he was pulled (thankfully) from the U.S. tank corps in WWII, given a Harley and told to report to th MP tent!

As an aside: none of the size comparrison photos in this thread are coming through for me. Just an x-out attached image msg. Is this because I'm so late to get here? The thread is nearly 2 yrs old, and yeah, I am that slow! (sorry)

Wow, I knew about the Super Heavy Tanks as I have FW Baneblades in my Tech Guard Army and several old school GW Super Heavies in my IG forces--big scale difference. I even suspected the Leman Russ chasis from FW were on a diet too as I purchased several FW Tank Hunters (also in my Tech Guard army) But I had not connected the dots to the fliers for some reason...oops, I think I just admitted that I don't use fliers much beyond my Thunderhawks--and mkI's at that! DOH!

Seriously, Thank you for posting these pictures. It is a virtual Epic desert where I live so I eagerly look forward to ANY photo references!
