Hello there, First off an introduction. ?My name is Peter Berry and I run Baccus 6mm. ?We've very recently released a range of 6mm SF models with more to come. ?One of my customers suggested that I join this forum as it seems to be the most active in this area of gaming. One of the main reasons that I've joined is to give anyone the chance to ask questions about the range, the attendant rules system, the backstory and of course our plans for developing things. ?I'm not going to be inundating the boards with vast amounts of advertising. ?This is more of a line of communication, so please feel free to ask away - the only thing I cannot answer is the comparative size of the CH models vis a vis anyone else's. ?Firstly, I don't know. not being too familiar with all the comparable ranges out there, and secondly we've got a fair spread of differently sized models already without all the new stuff waiting for moulding! One of the things that we are doing is developing a rules system called Command Horizon. ?The latest version of this is now available either from the Baccus site or the files section of the CH Yahoo group. ?The rules are designed for large scale actions which is something that I fell has been sadly ignored in the past. ?These are free to download, so I hope you'll give them a go. |

Hello Baccus. Welcome aboard! I'm sure many on here will at least armchair general the rule system. I'm curious about the background/backstory stuff. If you have some info on the world setting that would be great. Also, if you're trying to answer questions and get the word out, the 6mm yahoo group run by Maksim Smelchak is fairly active. That might be a good outlet to pursue as well. |

Thanks for the replies chaps - much appreciated. ?This is a very new field for me, and although I have a good idea of where I am going with the project it's always good to have feedback. Links, yes links. ?Silly me... The CH Yahoo group can be found at http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/CommandHorizon/ The CH range can be found on the Baccus site www.baccus6mm.com Follow the link. to 'Products' |

I'm curious about the background/backstory stuff. ?If you have some info on the world setting that would be great. We've actually done quite a lot of work on this. ?The plan was for the CH website to be chock full of timelines and a few sample force/faction lists. ?This was scheduled for release on the day we launched the range. Unfortunately the plan took a nose-dive when the chap doing the site was taken ill a couple of days before the big launch. ?What is up at the moment at commandhorizon.com is a 'holding' page until we get things sorted. ?The work is done, it's just a matter of getting it out to you. The background is one of expansion to create 'Human Space'. ?Settled from Earth originally, but evolving into a more complex range of breakaway planets and systems, odd worlds, a mystical cult or two, muscular 'Big Business' with multi-System reach, and a few space pirates. ?An everyday tale of space-faring folk. ?No aliens in the timeline yet. ?Their story has yet to be told, but it will be their soon. How's that for starters? |

Hi Peter, welcome to the Battlecomms section of Tactical Wargames - and thanks for joining up. The Battlecomms section is the area of Tac Comms which is devoyed to any wargame other than Games Workshop's Epic and BFG. There are sections on wargames in different scales, and an area on modelling fro these games, not to mention the general discussion zone. Looking forward to more news from Baccus. There, that's me with my moderator-for-Battlecomms-hat on doing the intro ![]() How's that for starters? Very fine, thank you - more please! ![]() ![]() I've got my eyes on the walkers; and the heavy tanks; and the Greek and Persian ancients..... ![]() |

Took a look at the latest version. My only complaint is that "unzip", "zipped", and "zapped" aren't very intuitive. It would go a long way for ease of reading and understanding if you replaced them with "rally", "suppressed", and "destroyed." That said, I like the rules. Just waiting for delivery from your US distributer for some of the tanks I ordered. The brigade sized elements are exactly what I was looking for when I decided to delve into 6mm figs recently. I think you have a winner here. |

Thanks again for all the positive responses. ? ![]() Sgt Crunch, My only complaint is that "unzip", "zipped", and "zapped" aren't very intuitive. ?It would go a long way for ease of reading and understanding if you replaced them with "rally", "suppressed", and "destroyed." [I can understand this, but to be honest we didn't invent the terms. ?We've been using a fairly mixed group of playtesters and it was this lot that coined the 'zip/zap/unzip'. ?They stuck, and are pretty well standard now for anyone playing the game. ?Yours is the first complaint on these lines we've had. That said, I like the rules. ?Just waiting for delivery from your US distributer for some of the tanks I ordered. ?The brigade sized elements are exactly what I was looking for when I decided to delve into 6mm figs recently. ?I think you have a winner here. Thank you. We were hoping to do something different here. ?Loads and loads of people are very happy playing the existing 6mm SF systems out there, but we did think that this level of action was missing from the mix. |

Welcome to the Center of the 6mm SFi Uni ! And many of the crew here have been following Baccus 6mm SFi developement. Both the Creators of DRM (Doug) and Exodus Wars (Tom!) are members of this crew, so you are in excellent company. With G/W Epic models fading away to eBay and B-town, new 6mm SFi has a big market here ! ![]() |

Hello Peter, Good to see you here. Sgt Crunch isn't the first to dislike the terms. To each his own but I couldn't read through the rules without "zipping" them through a word processor to replace the terms. ![]() ![]() I am very interested in the new minis. Only the budget is holding me back. I just recieved a big order from Heritage in the US (mostly historicals) which did me in for this year. Also played around with sabot bases in CH for my Space Wolves Army. It seems to play well. Gary |
