Hey guys,

We are coming to the end of the financial year for Steel Crown Productions which means a megaton of spreadsheets, accountants and prioritizing. I've got the spreadsheets and accountants covered, but would be interested to see what you guys thought were the highest priority on the Royal Empire side of things. In short, what would be your top 3 favourite factions?

We are open to suggestions for the contents of each of the new factions regarding contents, special rules and for thematic ideas :-) .

Here is a perfect opportunity to help shape the evolving EW universe and fill in some of the gaps.

We'd love a post explaining your votes too .

The Japai (original suggestion by Evil & Chaos)
- Conscripts: Slug weapon equipped ashigaru with topknots
- Grenadiers: Ultra advanced armour / battle suits
- Unique Unit: Robots

The Angals
- Conscripts: Slug weapon equipped, berets
- Grenadiers: Medieval themed, powered battle armour
- Unique Unit: Light Infantry in four wheeled reconnaissance vehicles

The Stygians (original Suggestion by jaggedtoothgrin)
- Conscripts: Slug weapon equipped, egyptian theme
- Grenadiers: Jackal / Eagle headed powered battle armour
- Unique Unit: Jackal / Crocodile / Eagle headed mechs (15mm tall)

The Caer (original suggestion by Jaggedtoothgrin)
- Conscripts: Slug weapon equipped with cloaks, pyroguns and sniper rifles
- Grenadiers: Equipped with armoured power loaders
- Unique Unit: Elite light infantry

The Varangians (original suggestion by Kyussinchains)
- Conscripts: Slug weapon equipped, great coats
- Grenadiers: Greatcoats, bear skin hats
- Unique Unit: Tesla weapon equipped walkers

The Garnians
- Conscripts: Slug weapon equipped conscripts
- Grenadiers: Powered battle armour, chain blades and riot shields, or pyroguns
- Unique Unit: TBA

The Suomi (original suggestion by Sawbones)
- Conscripts: Slug weapon equipped, fur trimmed coats
- Grenadiers: Snowmobile equipped
- Unique Unit: Snowcat styled APC

The Avanashi (original suggestion by ZuluWarrior)
- Conscripts: Slug weapon equipped with turbans
- Grenadiers: TBA
- Unique Unit: Six armed mechs

The Atlantians
- Conscripts: Slug weapon equipped, seal team / frog men attire
- Grenadiers: Steam punk / Jules Verne nautical powered, battle armour.

I like my space viking/russians, my space knights, and my space celts,

I love the aesthetic of the three, and as someone with all three bloodlines in my heritage (Euro-mut american here) I like to see them fielded in all their glory.

I voted for the Caer, mostly for the power loaders! Their conscripts sound more interesting too, because of the special weapons. Unfortunately, after Legion 4 pointed out they were Scots I immediately thought of Sean Connery, and of Zardoz, and of a 6mm army of exterminators. Ugh. Cannot unsee.

The Varangians sound good too because they don’t seem so specific that I’ll think of one particular place on earth, and the Avanashi would be very cool too. I don’t know if you’re thinking Lawrence of Arabia or Sikhs, but either way it’s a look that’s under-served in 6mm (and any other scale, really) despite all of the military history coming out of those regions.

heh, I imagined the varangians being heavily russian influenced, hence the big bearskin hats, super poorly equipped conscripts and Red Alert style tesla coils....

Well they are more like Indians from India or Sikhs. Tallarn would wear the more traditional Middle East head gear, the Keffiyah ...
